Eye of Blades protects from Retainer strikes or all strikes in general. My play group says just the retainer strikes and I am fairly certain they are right, however I have this nag in my brain that says it may cover all strikes. > Eyes of Blades > Combat > Auspex & Celerity > Do not replace until your untap phase. > Strike: dodge, and this vampire may prevent 1 damage from a retainer. > Only usable before range is determined. This round, this vampire cannot strike, and strikes and damage from retainers have no effect on this vampire and any non-retainer cards on him or her. >

I've also read it as strikes AND damage from retainers as retainers don't strike. Their damage is environmental damage, right? Prince of Dallas Toreador Grand Ball: Dallas August 13, 2022

There is at least one retainer i can think ofoff the top of my head that may strike with a weapon not used by the vampire. Edit: nevermind. Ghoul retainer can strike but it doesnt coumt as such.

This is not a strike, although it does count as "using" the weapon. > Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director
