The rules say I can only play 1 Trifle, not 1 Trifle Master Card. Does this rule mean I can not play 2 Orun or 2 Aye? Is it I can play only 1 Trifle master card and then use the other master action to play a non-trifle master card? Or can I play 1 Trifle Master Card, then play another Trifle Master Card but not receive the 2nd Trifle affect?

mirddes

first trifle gives additional MPA, 2nd is legally played and is a normal master UDHR18/19/27

Jeff Kuta

Technically, the rules say you can only gain 1 Master Phase Action from Trifles each turn. Your scenario is legal. When you are anvil, be patient; when a hammer, strike. pckvtes.wordpress.com @pckvtes

When a Methuselah plays a trifle (and it isn't canceled), she gains an additional master phase action. For an out-of-turn trifle, she gains a master phase action in her next master phase. A Methuselah can gain only one master phase action from trifles in a given master phase; others act like regular master cards. > Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

Correct answers from mirddes, Jeff Kuta and Ankha: The first uncanceled trifle (for example, Orun) card gives you an additional master phase action. You can use that extra Master Phase Action to play another Orun.

If I had a card in play that let me have 2 MPA, could I technically play 3 Orun?

Ohlmann

Yes you can. If you can play a master, you can play a trifle master. It's just that you can't gain more than one master phase action per turn via Trifle masters.
