Name: Fierce Opposition Type: Conviction Cost: - Requirment: - Burn to prevent 1 damage to this Imbued. Burn to reduce a bleed against you by 1.

"Burn to prevent 1 damage to this Imbued." Potentially "Burn to reduce a bleed against you by 1." No no no no no no no noooooooooooo! Easily re-useable cards to prevent the main way of ousting is a bad idea.

ReverendRevolver

Im not sure i like the openness. Maybe its time for 3 way imbued or power cards. Defenders have the reduce, and martyrs can burn it to prevent 1 to anotherally incombat. Maybe redeemers can use it to make a monster pay 1 more blood or life for an actionor block attempt? The imbued are so pigeon holed now. And if the stay and cant do more than 1 thing, they need support. Maybe abilities to become ghouls that can become incapacitated, escued by vamps and playbasic cel for pot. Good idea though, for a conviction.

They could burn the card while being tapped (which is hard enough to achieve when Vigilance is being used), and that card would make even harder to oust Imbued. I would prefer seeing some new non-Powers, non-Conviction cards for the Imbued, if any. The non-Powers, non-Conviction minion card for Imbued I see on a regular basis is Determine.

ReverendRevolver

Oh, or errata the unplayable stuff to make it neat. We could vote on it. No,im not being sarcastic, i think changing stuff could add depth.

Reyda

not ok for the reduce bleed, but the prevention is good. i would word it like : when you are succefuly bled, burn this convicion to make the acting monster burn one blood or life. Imagination is our only weapon in the war against reality -Jules de Gaultier

Burn to prevent 1 damage to this Imbued. ok Burn to reduce a bleed against you by 1. not ok how about, this Imbued takes damage equal to the bleed amount, excess goes to pool. If this Imbued is still ready at the end of the action, the acting minion may enter combat with it.

Eh, because reducing a bleed for 1 is so overpowered ability huh?

ReverendRevolver

I think imbued need more pro-monster stuff. Supporting imbued make them more useful thanadding to broken existing stuff. But they should never have bounce or votes. Ever. Beyond that, i think tame bleedreductioncould work. But not as a conviction.

Ohlmann

@Ashur : maybe in the past they were, but now the correct way to caracterize them is "annoying", not "overpowered". > Ashur wrote: > Eh, because reducing a bleed for 1 is so overpowered ability huh? > One time by an untapped vampire, no. Multiple time, it can be. If your imbued prey put three of them on his minion each turn, I hope you are using dominate.

> Klaital wrote: > Eh, because reducing a bleed for 1 is so overpowered ability huh? > Reducing a bleed for one is not. having 4 or 5 imbued and recursing this card each turn allows you to reduce 4 or 5 bleeds. More with the said location. Every turn. Until the end of the game. And if predator manages to get a big bleed through, there's always champion. Well if they are doing that, then they aren't recuring the +bleed or the pseudo stealth one so their prey has no pressure. Maybe add like 'only one Fierce Opposition can be burned per action' if that makes you happier.

The problem I see with imbued is not their defence. If given setup time, they make nearly unoustable walls of intercept, combat damage and some reduce. Because of this they seem to time out games with maybe a result of 1.5/0.5/0.5/0.5/0 breakdowns (unless someone cross-table is bleeding like a maniac). Imbued need some go-forward if anything. They need an encouragement not to be a wall. +bleed would be my recommendation or ways to deal pool damage for torpored vampires. Ends justify the Means Unique Master Requires a ready Imbued //Maybe just one of the 'groups' Put this card in play. Your Imbued may take an action costing 2 conviction to give a vampire in torpor a Captive counter. A vampire with a Captive counter cannot be a target of cards or actions. A Methuselah burns 1 pool each Untap for each Captive Counter on their minions. A minion may burn a Captive Counter and put the vampire who had the counter in the ready region as a +1 stealth action costing 2 blood. Retired Baron of Sydney, Australia, 418

But captive counter sounds alot like hostage counter. And i think only 8+caps should be able to rescue captives. Or at least 5+ because weenies are week and easy to see getting used as leverage by imbued.

Juggernaut1981

It was a deliberate variant of Carver's Meat Packing & Storage. I didn't want this card to trigger Carver's text, which means it needs a counter that is NOT a Hostage counter. I also wanted the counters to not have a 'memory' just a name. So that the card in play gives the counters in play their meaning. Retired Baron of Sydney, Australia, 418
