218 Malkavian 217 Ventrue 152 Toreador 143 Tremere 127 Gangrel 99 Nosferatu 90 Brujah 90 Giovanni 85 Lasombra 79 Tzimisce 62 Followers of Set 50 Assamite 41 Ravnos Counting just 13 major clans. Interesting. Sabbat.Black Hand Shakar: Lech loathe ranged weapons. Once each action, he may burn 1 blood to become Camarilla Prince of Krakow until the end of the action.

I was indeed expecting Ravnos to be dead last of the major clan. On the other hand, seeing Kyaside and Baali behind Ravnos and Assamite does surprise me Instead, the far maligned Gangrel antitribu are a bit above Ravnos and twice as much present than !Brujah. Then again, it's a hasty study, since I didn't try to see what thoses decks encompasse ; also !Brujah don't have a deck-defining vampire like Enkidu. On the same hasty level of analysis, clans with a camarilla and a sabbat version with the same discipline (i.e. not the !gangrel and !ventrue that have significantly different discipline payload) almost alway have the camarila version much more present ; my opinion would tie this to three advantages : * 2nd Tradition, which mean any clan with Prince can have a pretty though defense. The !Brujah are particulary noteworthy on that (even if the Eurobrujah with also help) * Parity shift, which is pretty much unrivaled as far as votes go* * 11-caps with 4 votes and +2 bleed

I recon the phrasing wasn't very good. * 23 !brujah to 67 brujah, a ratio of ~3 camarilla for 1 sabbat, compared to a ratio of ~2 for other clan. !Nosferatu is the second worse with a ratio camarilla / sabbat a bit above 2.5. Unsuprisingly, it's also the two clan without bounce. The !gangrel are here again against expectation performing relatively well for sabbat.

Jeff, It appears that there are a few decks that have 5 or more vampires of the same clan, for two clans, and have not been counted as a win for both clans. It does appear, however, that these decks have one thing in common -- they have a clan which has 6-7 of one clan, which is the winning clan, and "only" 5 of another. Does that fact disqualify them? If you have specifics, updates can be applied. If one clan meets the requirement and has more vampires than any other clan, then only that clan is counted. (i.e. 6 for clan1, 5 for clan2, only clan1 is credited with the win) A deck would only count twice when in the following situations: clan1clan2others 552+ 660+ 770+

Interesting. > Does it make sense to add up Cam/Sabbat versions? For example Malk/!Malk can be pretty similiar (depending on group), while Ven/!Ven are vastly different (also in deck types). Also clans which Sabbats version sucks (Bru solid, !Bru crap) seem comparativly weak.

Dr.Mafrune

I think non-clan decks should be better scrutinized, because more of them can be asigned to a clan. For example: 1) Decks with anarch converts, can have 4 of the same clan which if you count the crypt without converts the ratio is over 5 12. Therefore converts should not be included in the clan crypt count to see if they have a ratio of better than 5 12 to be classified as a specific clan. 2) There are many decks based on star vampires, which do not have more than four of them. Many times the deck name is named after them, and most of the strategy of the deck is based around them. For example: Nana Buruku with multiple masters, Lutz deck with vampires with innate political actions & black forest base, Anu decks with multiple archon investigations, many salubri decks with heidelberg & spirit marionette, MPA decks with Huitzilopochtli or Cybele or MPA decks with Aksinya Daclau... 3) Decks which the revolves around clan combo. For example: Every Baron deck should be classified as samedi deck even it has only one Samedi. 4) Camarilla & Sabbat clan crossover decks. There are some decks which show different proportions of both clans and are classified in different ways: Exammples: a) 5+ vampires antitribu & camarilla. Classified as both antitribu & clan. b) 5+ clan or antitribu & 4 or the other. Only classified as one. c) 4 of both clan ( example 4 Dmnitra,3 Armin 1 Hektor). Classified as non-specific clan.

Dr Mafune, I understand your reasoning, but the line has to be drawn somewhere, you know, even if it seems a bit arbitrary :/ the diversity of crypts is so wide that there must be criterias, and those won"t please everyone. Besides this, it's just an indication of how clans perform in tournament, it does not have to be taken as scientific proof Imagination is our only weapon in the war against reality -Jules de Gaultier

I hadn't seen that elsewhere on your pages -- did I miss it? If so, I apologize. If not, could you perhaps list it there? I only ask because I made a deck with 5/7 and it won a tournament and I thought it would have gotten two clan wins and I may have changed it if I knew. Or maybe I wouldn't have, I dunno. It'd be interesting to see how different TWDAs are if done by nationality rather than country e.g. does Sweden have the best away team or FInland?

I sorta wonder how a list like the TWDA would break down if more than just the winners were recorded? How it might look if say, there were an archive open to all decks that make the final table or something. I think there are certain decktypes that can generally do well enough to make it there, but don't necessarily have what it takes to emerge victorious at the end of the day.

Because slicing the TWDA in various ways is a fun way to waste time, I decided to look at trying to identifier "Superstar" decks. (This is using the twd as downloaded on 2012/10/26, so it doesn't include any of the EC decks yet). Superstar definition used: The vampire must be unique. At least 33% of the crypt (so 4/12, 5/13, but not 4/13) Anarch Convert is ignored (because of decks like www.thelasombra.com/decks/twd.htm#2k9erasmusmontpellier ) More than any other unique vampire in the crypt (thus www.thelasombra.com/decks/twd.htm#2012ctbcpj is considered an Unnamed superstar deck) Advanced and base version are considered the same vampire "Camille Devereux, The Raven" is over-represented from the period when the Jyhad and VTES versions were considered different vampires. As much as anything else, this makes me convinced that we should consider inserting a rule that states "A Methuselah may play a maximum of only two masters per turn." And then make Parthenon free. Yeah, it'd be a major change. Yeah, it'd break the game wide, wide open. Yeah, I think that'd be much more fun. No, I'm not going to push it in any way, because it'll never happen. If someone can do it easily, I'd like to see a breakdown of the most commonly played vampires in the TWDA, ideally down to those that aren't in the TWDA. Specifically, total number in one chart and number of decks present in another, with the latter being more useful. Traveller Card Game

Clearly multiple MPAs is a great special ability. But, I am curious of the counts and percents without the restrictions to make them "star" vampire decks. I think the results will be somewhat different. When you are anvil, be patient; when a hammer, strike. pckvtes.wordpress.com @pckvtes

Yes, there are some disciplines there a lot like and but those haven't been perceived to be a creeping problem like multiple Master Phases Actions have been thought to be (at least recently).
