Requires at least one other Gehenna card in play. During each Methuselah`s untap phase, he or she may choose a ready vampire controlled by his or her prey. That vampire takes 1 unpreventable damage. Any titled vampire may call a referendum to burn this card as a +1 stealth political action. > The question is...does karen take damage from New Inquisiton??? I am thinking that she is immune... but lets hear it from the Judge... Thanks

Why would she take damage? As long as she's a Prince, she is unaffected by any Gehena cards, which New Inquisition is. Why do you think there are any doubts about that?

Just checking... since the effect is triggered by other Methuselah I decided to check... Its always nasty to be playing a card and hearing from someone something like: ->There is a ruling regarding that card that says this and that... you cannot do that.

The source of damage is the card (not the Methuselah). Since it's a Gehenna, Karen is immune to it. [/quote] Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

Thanks. I was just 99% certain...

For Pascal: If Karen Suadela is a ready vampire controlled by your prey, can you still choose her for New Inquisition knowing that she will take no damage (being immune) to the card? Does this fall under the "you can't take actions/use effects that would have no results" ruling? Retired Baron of Sydney, Australia, 418

You can choose Ponticulus as a target for the Talbot Chainsaw damage. I don't see why this one should be any different.

It's that general ruling principle that won't let you call Parity Shift if you have the most pool, won't let you call Reckless Agitation if there is only one other player than yourself, etc. It's the "Can't use an effect/take an action if there are no valid targets" concept. PB and LSJ have frequently dragged it out. So the question is... can you use New Inquisition (a Gehenna card) to target Karen Suadela even if you know she is "immune" to Gehenna cards. Or in another sense: Is Immunity to a Card Type (e.g. Immune to Gehenna Cards) the same as "unable to be targeted by a card type" or "targeting this minion with that card type has no effect"? @Juggernaut : what you describe is very different from "you can't take actions/use effects that would have no results", no ? AFAIK, you can use, eg, Horsehoe on Ponti, he won't die but it's not illegal > Non-existant user wrote: > You can choose Ponticulus as a target for the Talbot Chainsaw damage. Karen is immune to the whole package.

Jugg's words were not only incorrect, they were entirely sloppy, thus further obfuscating the original point of the post.
