Crypt [12 vampires] Capacity min: 6 max: 9 average: 7.5 3x Annazir (9) 2 votes Baali (g5) 3x Scout Youngwood (8) 2 votes DoC (g6) 3x Xeper, Sultan of Lepers (7) Baali (g6) 3x Arishat (6) 1 vote Baali (g6) Library [84 cards] Action [2] 2x Condemnation: Mute Action Modifier [24] 4x Bewitching Oration 2x Elder Impersonation 2x Faceless Night 2x Forgotten Labyrinth 2x Into Thin Air 4x Lost in Crowds 2x Perfect Paragon 6x Voter Captivation Action Modifier / Combat [2] 2x Force of Personality Action Modifier/Combat [4] 4x Swallowed by the Night Ally [1] 1x Mylan Horseed (Goblin) Combat [4] 4x Majesty Event [2] 2x Anthelios, The Red Star Master [31] 2x Information Highway 6x Parthenon, The 1x Ruins of Charizel 8x Tend the Flock 3x Vessel 4x Villein 1x Wider View 6x Zillah's Valley Political Action [14] 8x Kine Resources Contested 6x Reckless Agitation So, this is the latest version of the deck, however, never have I played it with this many masters. It was an 80-card variant of fast political death, but it was somewhat prone to bad draws and master jams and it was relatively slow. In this version I cut out some unneeded masters (Paths, for example) and added 8 accelerator masters, with a bit added Tend the Flocks. So, in order to keep up with all those masters, I put in 6 Parthenons and 2 Anthelios to cycle all those unneeded masters once I'm set up for more Flocks (it really should work wonders with 6 transfers). Some general observations, based on previously played versions: as with all Baali decks, I guess, good pool management is key or you'll bleed yourself do death having an aggressive predator, especially one able to rush, means instant death to this deck once my gaming group familiarized with this deck, they were very aggressive towards me, which is I guess understandable. at least it makes for very fast games (I was asked after half a dozen games not to play with it any more) Villein-only approach is not so feasable, since many cards require blood on Vampires - hence a mix of Vessels and Villeins vote lock is very possible, even with many votes on the table very flexible when it comes to nuisances, meaning I can reliably deal with opponent's locations, equipment and allies. That is huge! this deck is able to dish incredible amounts of vote damage very very quickly. People not familiar with deck are taken aback how quickly they die... this setup is relatively obscure and therefore deck gets a benefit of a doubt, which it doesn't deserve. So, any comments, suggestions? I'm not against cutting this deck even further or even expanding it to 90 cards...do you think this whole master-heavy setup is tournament-viable? I was thinking of perhaps adding some of the following cards: several Washes (cyclable), a single Dreams (also cyclable) and perhaps Protected Resources, since this deck does not bleed too much...

No pool-gaining vote or action ? It's pretty much the more suicidal deck I have seen. I does not mean that as an insult ; you pack no defence while being very able to oust yourself just by your own card. Of course, there is not a lot of workable defense with that crypt ...

Kiddo

Well, there are 6 Voters and a lot of Tend the Flocks...my rationale for not including any pool-gaining votes is that I can most via Boon get, what, 3 pool and that action alone costs me 1 pool later. I'd rather chip off my prey 5 pool, getting close to 1 VP and 6 pool) and perhaps gain 2 via Voters. I also had 1 Political Flux earlier, perhaps I should put it back in...

Ohlmann

Well, Political Flux seem very weak. Political Stranglehold seem better. And while big your vampires are not big enough for Honor the elder I don't really have much advices, but the fatal weakness of that kind of deck is that you can't wait for an opportunity and you must immediatly be threatening. It's too much of a weakness for me, but if it work for you ...

You are throwing far too much pool away: - Each Zillah's Valley costs you 1 pool. Consider more Information Highway/Dreams of the Sphinx instead. - Parthenon costs 2 pool and can be contested. Consider Rumors of the Gehenna instead. - Vessel costs a pool and you should not need it. If you want more pool, play more Villeins. If you want more blood, play Giant's Blood, Coven, Perfectionist, Life in the City,...

I agree with the Vessel comment. A Coven is probably a good idea and I think you should play Minion Tap instead of Villein here since you can recycle them after a big voter cap and I don't think really need Villein's trifle-ness. You do need a copy of Golconda, though. Furthermore I'd get rid of the Into Thin Air and just play more Elder Impersonation and Forgotten Labyrinth. I also really like 1-2 copies of My Kin Against the World in this deck. Other than that, looks deadly but it's a bit of a glass cannon.

I really like Perfect Paragon because of its versatility. Try it, it's nice. Baron of Frankfurt

And I'll point that to any player who is even considering to play a Parthenon > Disagree on Zillah's and Parthenon, as both are an integral part to getting stuff on the table fast and then later recoup the "wasted" pool with recycled Tend the Flocks. > Yup, that's the idea - fast setup and then recycle excess cards into useful stuff... > I agree with the Vessel comment. You do need a copy of Golconda, though. > Perhaps I should stick to what I used to run in this deck - 6 Villeins and that's it. Minions vs Villeins - I'm not sold but will give it a try and see could Villeins be Taps without a loss of speed. Perhaps swap Vessels with Blood Dolls, something like 4 Villeins and 2 blood Dolls? A single Golconda is a nice idea. As is Coven, will try to jam it in. > Furthermore I'd get rid of the Into Thin Air and just play more Elder Impersonation and Forgotten Labyrinth. I also really like 1-2 copies of My Kin Against the World in this deck. > Perhaps, again, you probably are correct. My main issue is that those cards cost blood and this really should be taken into consideration when you decide how much blood to take off a vamp with a first Villein... My Kin was actually in previous versions of this deck. However, I'm not quite sure if it is worth it, paying ideally 2 blood instead of two pool and main guy cannot preform an offensive political action that turn. He is, however, free to either bleed and/or destroy/steal equipment or location. Should be useful if there are allies on the table, too...will put in 2 copies and give it a try. > I really like Perfect Paragon because of its versatility. Try it, it's nice. > Oh, I quite agree - that's why there are two copies in the deck already . Thanks for all the comments, guys.

I've tried to build many different versions of that kind of deck (and I must admit I haven't found a good one), but here's a few insights: > Kiddo wrote: > Crypt [12 vampires] Capacity min: 6 max: 9 average: 7.5 > 3x Annazir (9) 2 votes Baali (g5) > 3x Scout Youngwood (8) 2 votes DoC (g6) > 3x Xeper, Sultan of Lepers (7) Baali (g6) > 3x Arishat (6) 1 vote Baali (g6) > > Library [84 cards] > > Action [2] > 2x Condemnation: Mute > > Even though it's a great card, you won't need it most of the time. Swallowed by the Night is a great versatile card (combat defense/stealth) so you could add more. > You have already figured out that you won't gain much blood on Voter Captivation so you'd better avoid any blood costing card. > > Action Modifier / Combat [2] > 2x Force of Personality > Great versatile card, easy to cycle. Zillah's Valley: they cost 1 pool and can only be used for Annazir and Scout. Think about 2x Dreams + 2x Powerbase: Montreal (you may keep 2 Zillah's). > Tend the Flock: You'll probably won't be able to play more than 1 or 2 in the game, or regain quickly pool from it. > > Blood gain: think about Lilith's Blessing and Jake Washington. Jake is a great recursive blocker against rush and works well with Vessel. Coven is also absolutely necessary. > > Political Action [14] > 8x Kine Resources Contested > 6x Reckless Agitation > > Maybe 1 or 2 Neonate Breach? > My Kin against the World is not a great card there since apart of voting, you won't be doing many things. > Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

Just a small update after a test game... I made some changes to the original deck, mainly putting in 3 Anthelioses and replacing all Villeins with Minion Taps. So, the bloat/recycle scheme with 2 MPAs and Anthelios works like a charm. Whoever suggested a single Golconda - you were right, it is an awesome addition. However, I didn't win because of a 'minor' detail that Reckless Agitations don't work in a 2 player game - effectively, I had to discard 3 or 4 political cards, giving my prey/pred plenty of time to bloat up and jamming my hand in the process with modifiers. Were those plain old KRCs, I would have won. I'll give it a try several more times, my guess is that somewhere is a version of this deck that could be tournament-viable...

I have a fairly similar deck that has been working quite well to me that thought to share with you here in case it gives you any inspiration on yours. Also, have you considered dropping 1 reckless agitation and/or 1-2 KRC for 2-3 conservative agitation. In the early game it is almost as good as reckless and better than KRC, in the end game at least it can still do some damage and help cycle some modifiers like voter cap and bewithcing oration. Reckless agitation's restriction in the 2-player game has caused problems for me too. I think this deck can be very viable in a tournament.

If you want a tournie-viable deck you can try this one ( as long as you give proper credit to the name I gave it). Sadly I havent the needed cards to make it. It looks quite good for me for the first draft. I hope you like it as I do. Deck Name : Space Revolver Author : Dr.Mafrune Description : Inspired by the infamous spanish tiki-taka school of deck building ( Few or zero reactions, reduce the deck to the utmost limits & very aggressive to the prey), I took the idea of dreams-ashur tablets recursion from this crazy sweden master-fanatics ( Adam Esbjornsson & Co laboratory, thanks for making Cause & Effect) and applied to the infernal lawfirm deck concept which solves the great problem about inutility of reckless agitation at the endgame. The silver bullet political flux idea is from aussie Jason Ryan. It should have only 60 cards, but I put a freaky rise of the nephtali to amuse myself. It probably should have a golconda and the coven, jake or simmilar. Likely to include a monastery of shadows, veneficti, mylan or kaymakly fragment, bitter and sweet story... but found no room for it. The name I gave it is full of significance. I often try to give my decks name of prog-related albums and the name should have some relationship with the concept. Here the relation is threefold. First, revolver is a dangerous weapon and the deck is a revolving tool, through recursion of ashur tablets. Second space is a new frontier, something new, alien or specially good. Third the album is from one of the greatest swedish music prog-bands, The Flower Kings, and this is my homage from where the idea came from.
