hi in combat ... on strike resolution.. acting minion (A) : play combat ends blocking minion (b) : play a majesty or earth meld the blocking minion (B) untap ? or the effect of his strike card is cancelled for combat end of the acting minions .. thanks ilbuglio

TorranceCircle

Minion B untaps! Great stuff for blocking decks that block and untap!

Kiddo

Since both 'combat end' strikes are resolved at the same time, effects of both strikes are fully in effect. Were one strike superior Majesty and another Earth Meld, both combatants would untap. You should check the rulebook for timing of strike resolves, according to their type - the order is:combat ends-first strikes-thefts-normal strikes.

Correct answers from TorranceCicle and Kiddo.

but .. if the both strike are resolved.. if the blocking minion use aggravated damage .. i must resolved .. anyway .. and the combat finish but the acting minion go in torpor .. instead.. the effect of the minion "B" is void .. and the combat finish ..

And have you checked the rulebook about the timing of strike resolution as Kiddo indicated? Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

if the both strike must be resolved in the same time !! if acting minion play majesty or earth meld the blocking minion play strike : majesty =untap the blocking minion play strike: earth meld = untap then the blocking minion play stri: aggravated damage .. the combat end and the actiong minion go in torpor "same time strike resolve" but the acting minion dont go in torpor because the combat ends stop the combat immediately , no other strike or press can be played .. there isn't the normal resolution of strikes... if acting minion play aggravated damage and the blocking minion play majesty .. non normal strike reslolution .. blocking minion untap and dont go in torpor

Kiddo

Yeah, check the rulebook (there is a link on the left side of this page, if you don't have one on yourself), specifically section '6.4.5 Strike Effects' Tu summarize, strikes have timing of resolve, according to their types. And for easy reference, here's the sequence, going from fastest to slowest: STRIKE:COMBAT ENDS - DODGE - FIRST STRIKE - STEAL BLOOD - (HAND STRIKE - STEAL EQUIPMENT - DESTROY EQUIPMENT) Most agg strikes are either ranged strikes or hand strikes, which are both resolved last...

I don't understand the question (if there is any) so I'll try to clarify: > rulebook wrote: > Combat Ends . This effect ends combat immediately. This type of strike is always the first to resolve, even before a strike done with first strike, and it ends combat before other strikes or other strike resolution effects are resolved. Combat ends is effective at any range. Combat ends is not affected by a dodge, since dodge only cancels effects that are directed at the dodging minion. > A and B are in combat. If A plays a Strike:Combat Ends and B strikes with aggravated damage, the Combat Ends resolves first (per rules). B's strike is "lost" (it doesn't resolve) Same thing if B plays Combat Ends and A strikes with aggravated damage. If A and B use both a Strike:Combat Ends, both strikes resolve at the same time. If A and B use both a hand strike, both strikes resolve at the same time (dealing damage etc.) Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

> Kiddo wrote: > STEAL BLOOD - (HAND STRIKE - STEAL EQUIPMENT - DESTROY EQUIPMENT) > Steal Blood and regular strikes both resolve at the same time: Steal Blood steals blood, hand strike (for instance) inflicts (= queues) damage (which are handled during the damage resolution step). But I understand what you're trying to say: blood moves before damage causes burn blood. Still, if you steal blood and your opponent steal an equipment, they both happen at the same time. ok ... if rule 6.4.5 .. is true .. the strike of the blocking minion have no effect .. no effect if aggravated , no effcte if strike: combat end .. somewhere in whitewolf forum there is a clarification of LSJ on combat end vs combat ends for now thanks ..

> Kiddo wrote: > STRIKE:COMBAT ENDS - DODGE - FIRST STRIKE - [...] > "Dodge" doesn't "resolve", however it protects the minion dodging from anything that could happen to him/her or his equipments (but not retainers). If the opponent plays Catatonic Fear at close range, and your Mylan dodges, Mylan survives. Answers from Ankha are correct.

Kiddo

> Pascal wrote: > If the opponent plays Catatonic Fear at close range, and your Mylan dodges, Mylan survives. > Of course you're right, but those are, I believe, finer points to the entire timing of the strikes issue. Since the OP doesn't seem to grasp the basics, i thought first step should be giving him a general idea of the whole rules. It's not accidental that the simplification of timings, such as I've written, is nowhere to be found in the rulebook.
