hi, suppose your prey plays with an open hand due to a revelations @sup in play, and you use darius styx's special against him, can you just see AND pick the card knowing exactly which card (retainer/equipment) you're gonna be picking (thereby stretching the definition of 'random' somewhat)? maybe it's obvious. i couldn't find the ruling on this. -thanks for any help! Well, you are making the false assumption that random mean "you choose a card in the hand of your opponent". It mean "a randomly selected card". If you don't see the card of your opponent, picking one face down seem good enough. If you do see it, then you have to find another way (a dice for example, or turning the end face down, shuffling it, and drawing from it).

Revelations in play will certainly help you decide whether it is useful to use Darius Styx' ability, but you still need to randomize as Ohlmann states. The other Methuselah can simply move all the cards to his or her hand once Darius' action resolves and then you can pick at random (and then after resolution put the cards back into view).
