Gang, I'm starting up a few JOL games with some new rules. I'd encourage (though not require) you to make decks with some of these cards, to see what will happen with the changes. Please reply in this thread with your JOL nick if you wish to participate in this experiment. When we have enough players, I'll begin the games starting the second week in June. RULES Section [5] in the rulebook says "A Methuselah may not have more than two Master Phase Actions." COSTS Deflection costs 1 pool. Govern costs 2 blood. Conditioning costs 2 blood. TEXT ---- Master:Discipline cards read "Master:Discipline. Trifle." Trophies EXCEPT FOR Trophy:Progeny all read "Master:Trifle." Archetypes EXCEPT FOR Perfectionist all read "Master:Trifle." Ashur Tablets reads "...choose up to three cards..." Pentex Subversion(TM) reads "Each Methuselah may play only one Pentex Subversion(TM) in a game." Parity Shift reads "Each Methuselah may play or call only one Parity Shift in a game." BANNED Direct Intervention is banned. It's cool that you are using JOL to try out different rules paradigms.

What I'd like to see is some sort of report from the games you play under these rules. I'd be very much interested in finding out how it went and how the changes really influenced the game as a whole, the strategies etc. In other news - yes, I really like your rules

Pullen

I hate your rules, but I will help you test.

I appreciate the intent, but I think there are too many variables. It will be hard to evaluate the causes and effects in the final analysis. When you are anvil, be patient; when a hammer, strike. pckvtes.wordpress.com @pckvtes

Funny. I wish you all some new insights by executing this experiment. Have fun. Baron of Frankfurt

I'd be willing to run a game with only 1-3 of these variables. Or, even just one, as long as it's a fix that people want to test. I'm up for testing these, but I will run comparable cards like Legal Manipulation to show that the changes are to harsh. As that is my believe with what you have here.

KoKo

Vampiro on JOL. I will build decks accordingly and will be happy to test.

Trifle Cavalier seems extremely strong

Any more of these happening soon? Retired Baron of Sydney, Australia, 418

That govern change is silly, it will just make people switch to scouting mission instead.

It mean significantly slower oust and build-up via dominate. It may be a bit sad to see govern being unused, but at least for experiments it can be accepted. Maybe increasing the cost to 3 blood but giving 4 blood on a vampire and +4 bleed ? This way, it's expensive but game changing, something that may very well have a niche.

Klaital

In my opinion, very few cards are worth more than 1 blood. There are plenty of other discplines that have +2 bleed actions that cost 1 blood, some even that are free, so why should govern be nerfed like that?

A weenie is far superior to a weenie (or even a weenie in fact) because of this. * he have an alternate sup' level which is useful and very different. Unlike the presence version, you can actually deal with your prey/predator so that they don't block a govern sup, for example. That does not mean that the change used in this thread are the best. It's just that the goal is to hit hard the dominate, and to do this you have to hit either Conditionning, Govern, or Deflection with a big hammer. Here, all three are hit.

Klaital

I already use Redirection instead of Deflection in most of my dominate decks anyway, because its silly to pay for something you can get for free, and most of my decks don't leave vampires loitering untapped anyway. Also if you nerf conditioning, people just move to using threats or foreshadowing, which I already use in many decks over conditioning since again, free is good.

If dominate had neither govern, conditionning, nor bleed redirection, the "dominate module" would not be a successful concept
