If the card requires a vampire (e.g., costs blood or requires a Discipline), he may use it as a vampire with the basic level of the Discipline (if any).

Scenario. Shadow Court Satyr enters play with Earthmeld and later enters combat with a !Salubri vampire who play Death Seeker to cancel the Earthmeld strike.
First question: Can Earthmeld be cancelled at all?
Second question: If Earthmeld is cancelled is it returned to Shadow Court Satyr or ash heap?
Card (Earth Meld) stays on Satyr, and you never play it - just use the effect (as if played from your hand).
Death Seeker does not cancel combat end effect or any other effect from card on Shadow Court Satyr.

And that's what fun's about
"Once each combat, the Satyr may use the ability of that card as if played from your hand."
"Cancel a combat card played by the opposing minion as it is played"
This part makes me believe Death Seeker do indeed cancel the earthmeld.
Ye and then I can highlight it as follows:
"Once each combat, the Satyr may use the ability of that card as if played from your hand."
"Cancel a combat card played by the opposing minion as it is played"
And claim Death Seeker doesn't cancel the effect, which is probably the case as the Shadow Court Satyr is using an effect and not playing a card. Thus you can't cancel it, similar to how Death Seeker doesn't cancel a strike done with Strike with Conviction.

VtES is not magic. The Satyr does not copy the card or anything, it use its ability. No card is played, so no death seeker.

No the Earth Meld is a card just fine (and a combat card at that), which is on the Shadow Court Satyr.
But as Ohlmann wrote, when the Shadow Court Satyr uses his special text to use the ability from the combat card on him, no card is played. Therefore something that cancels a card cannot cancel it. Would you argue Direct Intervention can cancel the effect too?

Same goes for Death Seeker.
