Greetings extrala.blogspot.se/2012/04/results-gothcon-2012-draft-vtes.html The Swedish ECQ took place during the biggest gaming convention in Sweden, GothCon. 34 players participated in this years draft event. We drafted 3 Lords of the night, 3 Third edition and 1 Dark Sovereignes (thanks to Hugh for bringing the display across the Narrow sea). The draft was won by Hugh Angseesing after a really tight 3 player game. I the 3 player game Pascal Bertrand just need one more stealth card to push his Reckless Agitation through (or Hugh would have need one less intercept card - depending on which point of view you have). Anyways cheers to Hugh for winning the draft! extrala.blogspot.se/2012/04/results-swedish-ec-qualifier-2012.html The second day of the Swedish ECQ 38 people from 8 different countries participated. We had a great day playing vtes and everyone was in a good mood. The finals were really tight and the very exciting. After and hour and a half Norbert plays an Anarcist Uprising that ousted Michael and Marko at the same time (Caroline was ousted two turns or so earlier) which resulted in Norbert and Adam entering the duel. Adam low on pool and 4-5 minions in play (some with Guns) and norbert having higher pool (10+ if I remember correctly) and only two minions with low blood. Adam starts by playing Pentex on Eze and Haven Uncovered on Nana Buruku. Rushing Nana and torporizing her. Norbert gets his turn contests Pentex and gets free and attempts to bleed. Eze only got one blood on him and Norbert can't afford the Strange Day he has on his hand when Adam play Second Tradtion. At this moment Norbert realizes that he can't win and congratualtes Adam on the tournament win. A special thanks to: Ralf Lammert for bring a nice piece of vtes art work with Liquefy the Mortal Coil as prize support (extrala.blogspot.se/2012/03/prize-support-2012.html). Tiago Brum for bring me (or rather posting me) a rules bocklet sign by LSJ as prize support. vtes.de for sending me a factory Sabbat War set as prize support. Hugh Angseesing for bringing (as mentioned before) the box of Dark Sovereigns across The Narrow Sea. And finally thanks to everyone who praticipated in the event - especially all of you that traveled from afar. I had a blast and would low to meet you all again for more vtes and just hanging out! Some stats on the ECQ: There were a total of 25 tables played Between the 5th finalist and the 11th player (highest non-qualified seed) there were only 1 vp There were 5 tables that timed out without a GW There were 3 tables with 2-2-1 splits 1/3 of the players that got a GW did not qualify Only 1 player got more then 1 GW 3 of the players in the ECQ final also played the draft final This is, in my opinion, all indicators of a tournament were a lot of players were equal in skill and in how powerful their decks were. Which is both fun and great! The kyasid finalist had a song in the dark ? It was a strange surprise tech, or a typo in the list ?

Kiddo

Thanks for listing all the finalists' decks. I wish more TWD topics did that.

@Ohlmann/Pascal Yeah the Song in the Dark was a Song of Pan and yes, it was a typo! Thanks for pointing that out. I also changed the Path of liliths in to Lilith's Blessing as intended. @Kiddo Yeah I agree. Getting to the finals, especially so big ones, are an achivement! Isak Esbjörnsson Bjärmark

I mean, The Path of Lilith in 3 out of 5 finalist decks? Who would've guessed. Should we expect an in-depth analysis of the card in the next Cause & Effect?

Adam's Deck was missing 1x Pentex subversion and 1 x Frontal assult. I added them to the decklist now. Isak Esbjörnsson Bjärmark

Congratulations, Adam, impressive record with the deck! I guess you Swedes really got to hate Wider View if you prefer Recruitment to it, ugh. =D Thanks to the organizers & our host, I at least had great time!

I normally get 5 or more minions with this deck so Wider View wouldn't be that good. Better to add cards in the uncontrolled region than to change. It was a great event, got to see a lot of people once more a year than I normally would. Even more people should come to Sweden for tournaments, I think! Adam Esbjörnsson, Prince of Örebro

The hospitality and awesome organization were no surprise. It really was as close to an EC as it can be. It is no wonder so many people travel to meet you for Viet-es. Thanks guys!

Guys with big beards play Lutz? Overkill is highly underrated. You know, like in computor games and such.
