This is a link to enter card ideas into a card idea database. Currently, anyone with this link can add a card. Library Card Form Currently, anyone can view and download the spreadsheet: Library Card Spreadsheet Currently, I am the only person who can edit the spreadsheet, but I can add people with permissions to edit the spreadsheet and the form. It probably makes more sense for one person or a small group of people to have the ability to add to the database, but consider this an open Beta. I will begin populating the database with ideas from this forum. If people will use this database, please sticky this thread. Please comment in this thread if you have ideas concerning this database. I would add a column "goal". Card are done with a goal, either a flavor one or a design one, and knowing it help both to conceive the card and judge it. (note that, while I do judge harshly cards ideas, I kind of like the idea of an open, unfiltered card concept database)

Worse case scenario we delete it later. Ah the flexibility of it all! I made it a small text input. The answer should be brief and concise, IE, "improve !gangrel bleed defense" or "round out assamite quietus combat" etc. Independent Futurist. Looks like a good start. Will you be adding these? www.thelasombra.com/newcards.htm Specifically: www.thelasombra.com/random.txt

(Assuming I set the permissions correctly.) If that is a problem let me know. Right now there is a huge backlog of card ideas on these forums, not to mention other non vekn websites. What it really boils down to is that even if I do manage to input the what has been posted already, It will take the communities support to input card ideas as they develop in these forums. An additional field containing any url to a related topic could be useful (eg. to redirect to this forum to see existing comments). Another disctinct text field containing the flavor text would also be appreciated. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

The "url" field idea would be a little redundant with the "purpose" field. So what would be more useful: a brief explanation of the card idea, or a url leading presumably to the discussion of the card idea? I think the brief explanation is more likely to be used by the person filling out the form, but the URL would be more useful to someone willing to put in the time to do more research about the card idea. As for adding a flavor text... I don't think it's a good idea because as I said above, I think it's asking the user for more work than is necessary. Also, I think the focus should be on the mechanics. However, this is supposed to be fun, and someone who puts the time and work into an appropriate flavor text will appreciate it. Also, a well chosen flavor text can inform as to the card concept. So, I will add a flavor text field, but I want to hear more discussion about the "card purpose" vs. "url" fields. Perhaps I should have them both? Independent Futurist. Contrarian (titled, X votes where X is the number of votes as the acting minion.) Target Vitals is always the better combat card.

Flavor text field may be left blank. Url field may be left blank too. So it shouldn't complicate the work of anyone entering some data. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

Edward/Direwolf, this database thing is really great. It looks really well done, and I look forward to reading the interesting ideas already posted. You have good ideas - I knew there was an organizer in you! It's a shame this important link is only on this thread. It would be great if it could be on a more fixed and prominent location. I hope VEKN takes note of this initiative and sees its value.
