The website has gone operational. Please note that this is just an alpha version of it and the site is still under development. We try to add content to it as soon as possible, but you know how it is: work, family, ...
/yea, there will be changes in the design as well/

Just wanted to ask - if I acces page of this hotel directly, there is an option for three people to share an Economy room, however in this form, there is only an option for two people to do this. Although the price for two people looks better, the option for three still looks little better. But we are advised to only use your form. So my question is : Is there some way to include 3 people per room to this form? / If I use this option outside of form, diretly via pages of hotel, what will happen. Thank you.

While Martin is taking a little break to cope with real life obligations Milan has stepped in and will be answering questions here shortly. Also the EC2012 website is almost ready (we are testing it at the moment) and will be released in the next 1-2 weeks.
Those are really good news, I was starting to get a little worried. BUt I get, that real life can get in the way. I am looking forward to see any news and new website.

Hi Guys

The hotel is welcoming you if you wish to stay longer. The prices remain the same just please define your arrival and departure dates on the booking form.
The booking form will be available on the website for download.
Of course you can book directly to the hotel or by any other means but please tell them that you are coming to the "card game event" because we are obliged to fill a certain amount of rooms with our guests. That's all.

Introducing the Nations' Cup:
On Friday 26 October 2012 a new type of tournament will be organized as the Side Event of the Last Chance Qualifier of the VTES EC 2012.
It is called "The Nations' Cup".
The primary goal is to organize a prestigious constructed tournament (like Legendary Vampire) for the Friday of VTES EC 2012 Budapest.
Rules for The Nations' Cup:
Each country may register 3 (exactly 3) players. The players must prove their nationality if the organizers ask for it.
(It is to each country's playgroup to agree in those 3 players. If a country cannot agree and for example 4 players are registering from a country then that country is not allowed to play. "Monsters we are.")
Each country may register 1 team as a maximum.
The organizers guarantee that there will be no table with 2 (or even 3) players of the same country.
(So the players will not sit totally randomized and there is no guarantee for optimized seating, however we will make the seating as optimized as possible under the additional condition.)
After the 3 preliminary rounds the GWs/VPs/Tps will be summarized by countries and this way the current "country standings" will be determined.
The top 5 countries of the "country standings" will play in the final.
Each finalist country will delegate 1 player to the final (out of the 3 team members). The delegate will be chosen by his/her team secretly.
The delegate will play his/her own deck in the final.
The winner's team of the final will win the "Nations' Cup of EC 2012 Budapest" (so a team is the winner not a single person).
Sanctioning of the Nations' Cup:
The tournament will be sanctioned and rated as a constructed tournament with the following exception:
When rating, the number of players will be the number of teams and each player of a team will get the same (best) rating.
(As of 2nd of September 2012, 16 nations have 3 or more pre-registered players, according to vtes2012.com.)
These rules have been approved by the V:EKN.
I wish you a great competition!
Milan Horvath, VTES EC 2012 Event Director
p.s.: There is no official script for selecting a country's delegates for the Nations' Cup. We advise the National Coordinators to coordinate the process.
p.s.: although the registration deadline for this event is friday 26 october 2012 10:00 AM, it would be a nice gesture of the participant countries if they give a brief sign of they expectable attendance to this event by email - to help the organizers and the opponent countries to prepare for the event. Please email to with the subject "Nations' Cup". Thank you.
There are no tournaments scheduled on the V:EKN calendar in Hungary for September, October, or November.
Has this event been cancelled?
Is the event abandoning the V:EKN rules?

The EC 2012 mentions two taxi companies which can be called for transfer between the airport and the convention hotel: Taxi transfer between Budapest Airport and the Hotel
Company " Taxi2000 ": HUF 4290 / max 4 persons - call +36-1-2000-000
Company " Taxi2000 ": HUF 6790/ max 8 persons (mini van) - call +36-1-2000-000 Company " VolanTaxi ": HUF 3600 (or EUR 15) / max 4 persons - call +36-1-4333-322 There's a third option as far as I can see, a general airport shuttle service: AirportShuttle-Minibusz -- the cost is 2880 HU (~10-11 EUR). There's also the possibility to book in advance, but I think it's easier to book at the airport. There's a special desk (at the "Gates of the Country") in the airport or call (+36-1) 296-8555.
The only thing that does not seem to be advisable is to call an (unmarked) taxi cab directly at the airport.
Dear visitors, the meteorologists says the weather will be cold. In friday there's a chance to got some snow. So cover yourself up well!
See you in BP.
