says you prevent half (rounded up). says "As above, and prevent half... (rounded up)". So, if my poor gargoyle gets hit for 3, does a single superior Rockheart prevent ALL the damage? I guess it comes down to, does "for the remainder of combat" include this strike that I'm preventing damage from right now? Is kind of like playing basic twice?

I would say no, it is not like playing basic twice.

Correct.
If you get punched for 3 and play superior Rockheart, you prevent 2 (and will prevent half of each opponent's strike for the remainder of combat).
