Adam Hulse and David Baker won the [Origins] Shadown Twin #1 and #2, so they each need to be qualified as tournament winners. Thanks. Long overdue update. Colored the titles of the Tournaments as suggested by our Webmaster of Darkness. To help the distribution of t-shirts, different colors for different continents. If you see something wrong or have any suggestion, please pm me. Tiago

Brum

Updated. I'm just doing this "bump" to let the Organizers and interested Players of Continentals that the list is updated. Only missing the 2011 Shadow Twins (both players and Kevin know they qualified) and a huge number of unreported tournaments. Organizers please: register and report you tournaments. Cheers! Tiago

Hi Brum can you please add my other two qualifiers (25% of 23 is 6 + a 7th due to ties) 1 hugh angseesing 2 6.5 5 156 2 Norbert Flasko 2 7 0 138 3 John Best 2 6 0 144 4 Matthew Baker 2 5 0 144 5 Arthur de Lustrac 1 6 0 156 6 Matt Boon 1 4 120 6 ke Carlton 1 4 120

Brum

Only glitch in the list is the Hungarian tournaments. I'll do that over the weekend. My main focus for Kevin to have a usable list. After this weekend we'll need to start building a new list for 2013. I kind of have this thing going on cruise speed now, but I know my timing has been less than optimal. I can do next year's list too and I think I'll be able to do better timings. So: -Anyone else want to take over? I'm not glued to the position. -What would you change in the way this list was done? Cheers! Tiago

KevinM

I think your current version of the list, with colors and being well-organized is great. Well done. I'd enjoy if you updated it weekly, but other than that, it looks good. IT MIGHT BE BETTER if this wasn't a forum topic but rather a page on the left, underneath Continental Championships... Though you'd stil lneed the topic for players to psot names/corrections. But a 'current' list on the LHS would be useful.

My availability as been... much less than what I would like. About the menu thing. Me and Ginés tried it in the beginning. Can't be done because of admin rights. Either way, people can see it somewhere, at least. I'll start doing the list for 2013 soon. My newly acquired professional life has stabilized and I hope to have a bit more time. And don't get me started on my backlog of new decks or old deck's tweaks. As always, anything wrong, let me know. See ya around, Tiago

Remember that the Qualified Players For 2013 list should have been started with the FCQ event at Origins. Or didn't we fully resolve this issue last time we discussed it? Were they before or after the NAC. Space-time continuum issue. The FCQ wasn't an issue - it was always the first qualifier for the new season. If I didn't put it in here, it was an error of memory. Cheers! Tiago

(Note that each Continental Championship has its own calendar year, which is different from each other CC calendar year.) The Shadow Twin tournaments are the first tournaments of the calendar year. So the winners qualify. Unless someone from the VEKN wants to correct or clarify what I said? Johannes? I think it stands to reason that Shadow Twin should be counted as providing qualification for the coming year. The FCQ should be a no-brainer. Retired Baron of Sydney, Australia, 418

Yes, all tournaments which are unable to qualify (by happening at the same time as day1 or day2) one for the current year are qualiying for the next year.

KevinM

Thanks for the confirmation, Johannes. I assume you meant "calendar" year, i.e. since the NAC is held earlier than the EC, then even though the NAC is the end of North America's calendar year, if you are a finalist, you qualify to go to the EC, since you are still within the EC's calendar year. That's really the issue that I think people are having a difficult time comprehending. There was never a question with First Chance Qualifier. I wonder when people got that idea. About the Shadow Twins - the ones in 2011 already qualified people for 2012. About calendars: -You qualify for the next Continental Championships in your continent and every other Continental Championship on the same year. Each person qualifying in the North America for the NAC 2013, also qualifies for 2013's AAC, SAC, EC, etc. So, players in North America that qualify after 2012's NAC (including its Shadow Twins), also qualify for 2013's EC, per example. Between NAC 2012 and EC 2012 (NAC before EC), people in Europe qualify to EC 2012, but not NAC 2013. However, people in North America already Qualify for all of the Continental Championships of 2013 (and none in 2012). Explicit in the Rules. BTW - I think the line that Johannes draw is good and should be explicit. The rules only explicitly mention FCQ.

KevinM

Problem: Since there is no "on the same year" NAC for Europeans after the NAC, which is held mid-year, then European non-qualifier tournament wins from July-Dec are worth less than non-qualifier tournament wins in North America, which only has a "worth less" period of Nov-Dec. This doesn't seems right to me. which is why we should use a calendar year for tournament wins. Unless no one cares about the discrepancy. But then all Europeans should register as North Americans, since it's never to their disadvantage to do so. The language you are using means that a player qualifying in North America in (say) 2012 -- ANY time in 2012 -- qualifies for the EC2012 also because the EC2012 is "every other Continental Championship on the same year". The concept of "calendar years" would fix this unambiguously: After the NAC2012 (for example) all North American tournaments are in the "year" 2013 (and the same for after each other CC). That way, as long as one person here on the VEKN website can do basic arithmetic, the only piece of information required is: Did you qualify before or after the CC? This would also equalize the fairness issue and put it back to no one anywhere having an advantage over anyone else, as they do now, given the language used. And the website will always be correct, because this is so incredibly easy to determine. I'll be happy to take over this duty from Brum if he doesn't wish to do it anymore. Updated the list. Only the Hungarian Tournaments pending, due to lacking of Report. I'll add the names of the players to the bottom of the list, but I need to see the archons, so I'll do it tomorrow or the next day.

The results from the Austrian EC Qualifier from September 30th seem to be missing. I believe the organizer has already sent the results in. The event is in the calendar. pckvtes.wordpress.com

I'm sure the results were at least sent to Robyn. I guess the judge and the organizer have not posted on the results forum so far. I'll see if I can get a hold of them, communication is a bit slow with them. pckvtes.wordpress.com

Just to update czech national championship - first post in the report was edited to include other finalists, but since there was no new post, it was probably overlooked. Rest of finalists: Daniel Fojtík 5390006 Daniel Gargulak 8430007 Jan Panovec 5200000 Jiří Čech 5390008 direct adress to report: www.vekn.net/index.php/forum/9-event-reports-and-twd/36614-czech-republic-championship-2682012 czechvtes.blogspot.com/

Tiago, I've been compiling a list of qualified Finns. Do you need it? Finnish Politics!

Brum

All I need is for people to post the results in the TWD thread. Since we don't have any other official way to report results, I'm using that as the official report place. I would like anyone to contact me if your report is there and I overlooked it. Tomorrow I'll take another round over the twd thread and put any new results I find there. Thanks, Tiago

Lönkka

TWD thread is the same place I've been compiling my list from. The only Finn -related qualifications that are currently missing from there are the Swedish Nationals, but both Finns that were on the finals were already qualified... Finnish Politics!

Hi Brum just realised you're missing the Danish qualifier it was the day after (11th) of March it hink...

Thanks for updating the list, Brum. Regarding the Austrian qualifier: isn't the judge supposed to be also automatically qualified, provided the multi-judge system was not used? pckvtes.wordpress.com
