Deck Name : Basilia Author : John McGlynn Description : Basilia multi-rush deck. Influence out a gangrel weenie and Basilia, then more weenies if pool allows. Weenies keep pressure on your prey via bleeds. Fame-dunk to oust - the aggravated damage puts vampires in torpor with blood, which you can spend on rescuing them for the re-dunk. One point of damage prevention is awfully common in my metagame, to avoid the additional damage from Target Vitals. Perhaps a Depravity, or Gangrel Revel, or Ritual Challenge to help ensure the agg poke dunk?

Dorrinal

Great suggestion. I used to run Ritual Challenge, don't know how it got dropped. Depravity would require that I lose the retainers - Raven Spy isn't a big loss but I do love my owls.

Juggernaut1981

Gangrel Revel... Make them all a little scary, you don't necessarily want to block a vampire with that has "Hands for 2" and the option to aggravate it... Retired Baron of Sydney, Australia, 418

I just don't see enough pool gain in the deck to support Depravity and Gangrel Revel on top of the Ecoterrorists, Zoo Hunting Ground, and paying 10 for Basilia with no Villein + refill tech.

The only thing I can think to add right now is another Blood Doll. What do you suggest?

Ankha

An option would be to play Grooming the Protege. Master [16] 2x Blood Doll -> 0 1x Carver's Meat Packing and Storage -> 0 2x Dreams of the Sphinx 1x Ecoterrorists 3x Fame 1x Giant's Blood -> 0 1x Perfectionist -> 0 1x Sudden Reversal -> 0 1x Tension in the Ranks 2x Wider View 1x Zoo Hunting Ground -> 0 +7x Grooming the Protege I would also play amaranth with either Fueled by Heart's Blood or Trophy:Diablerie to save Basilia (in the latter case, play some Red List). You can also play 4xMonster and remove some freak drives, leaving room for blood gaining cards. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

I see this deck very slow. You will see many crosstable rescues of your preys vampires and aggra poking is just gonna put your prey on standstill with rescuing and your grand prey is gonna have freeride. Also Basilia gets empty fast. Combat decks are hardest to give advice without knowing combat metagame. I would remove some skin of nights, dotbs, melds and marbles and put carrion crows and tastes in. Then I would focus on getting some permanent things for Basilia so deck gets more consistent and not losing fuel in end game. Depravity, Ritual Challenge and Preternatural Strength should go in. Codex of the Edenic Groundskeepers should be included also. EDIT I don't see Grooming good card with so little blood gain. Monster should be included tho.

Ankha: I will consider a diablerie module, but removing Giant's Blood is a very bad idea for this deck. Surreal: The deck is very slow, but your cross-table rescue comment leads me to believe you misunderstand the way I play this deck. The rushes are meant to dunk famous vampires or surgically remove key blockers (and yes, go upstream if you have to). There's no reason to try to leave a smoking crater where your prey is and give your grand prey a "freeride." As for metagame, I have none, so I build all my decks for a typical tournament metagame. Honestly I'm quite worried about how this stacks up against Kindred Spirits.

Basilia will be starving if somebody plays it first. It is better to have other cards for blood gain and get Giant's Blood for bonus. My cross-table rescue was more scenario where you are surgically removing key vampires. One agg is not keeping key vampires in torpor. If I would be prey of this deck I would just rescue bleeder vampires of my grand predator to keep Basilia busy going upstream. That is why I feel this deck needs to do more damage in combat to keep key vampires down. More dmg works also as blood gain with tastes. Diablerie module is option also to gain blood and remove important targets. I feel Basilia works quite good for diablerie, Wynn is more crows/taste vampire.

Here is my interpretation of the "diablerie" option. I don't like it much. Deck Name : Basilia Author : John McGlynn Description : Basilia multi-rush deck. One good reason to dislike this version: the ubiquitous Carlton van Wyk.
