Thanks a lot Ralf! I am a bit slow with all things VTES lately, I should have added it myself last week. Just to make sure I can added one more time to the list of qualified people, I organized it Thanks Jeff for adding everything. Paul

In 2011, National Championship organizer's don't automatically qualify. The rules might change for 2012. I can't update the qualified players list without full names though.

I recall the autoqualification for ECQ organizers being justified due to plenty of work included in organizing such an event. Yet some of ECQs are really not that large tournaments. Then you have Nationals where you get some 50 players or so and no autoqualification. Seems kinda unfair even if the line has to be drawn somewhere. Finnish Politics!

Wasn't it also an argument that if you organized and judged a qualifier, you couldn't actually play in it yourself and thus would not be able to qualify unless you traveled to a different country for their qualifier?

Unfortunately, the page at www.vekn.net/index.php/continental-championships hasn't yet been updated with language stating such. (I also agree that organizers of ANY event at ANY level should be able to drop their "auto-qualify" status and play in their own qualifiers if they use the multi-judge system, but this has yet to be addressed by the VEKN.) I was under different assumption as very specifically asked Oscar about it and his answer was along the lines: "in nationals the organizer can pretty much use whatever rules she likes." The local rule thus was that the organizer could also play. As the info came from head of organized play I had no qualms allowing the organizer to play in the nationals. Finnish Politics!

Good thing I already qualified in another way then Here are the full names of the finalists: 1) Lucien de Prins 2) Koen Tabak 3) Peter Bouwman 4) Sahan Abeln 5) Thomas Kouwenhoven Only the finalists qualify right? Or is it still 25%?

Adonai

National Championship Finalists qualify, only. I don't know they the distinction from a regional qualifier was made, perhaps to reinforce the value for the qualifier tournament. Qualifier list updated. www.vekn.net/index.php/forum/10-news-and-announcements/6144

Still sounds weird to me since the nationals can be regarded "higher" in ranking then the ecq's. But this is not the place for this discussion.
