I spent alot time with VtES today... Talbot's chainsaw and Chainsaw are not a melee weapons, while Gas-Powered Chainsaw is. Why the difference? Ignorance is bliss. Cypher, Matrix

I have no better answer than "cardtext". Or, you could try to find designer's intent from those times.

because it's a gas-powered chainsaw SWORD the original chainsaw was wallpaper as soon as it was printed, because it's the exact same card as sawed-off shotgun. except not ranged and you can't use ammo. so I guess the gas-powered chainsaw was made to replace it.
