cool ideas, but bad text. Let's try something like this : Ashes of the Eldest type: Unique Equipment Cost: 2 pool When a Vampire successfully equips with Ashes of the Eldest, choose two disciplines that this vampire does not have. This Vampire gains inferior level of those disciplines. He is one generation older. Any Vampire controlled by another Methuselah can steal this equipment as a D action. Swordmaster Type : master Cost : 1 pool Put this card on a ready Vampire. A Vampire with this card inflicts an additional damage when striking with a melle weapon. A Vampire can have only one Swordmaster. Gunner Type : master Cost : 1 pool Put this card on a ready Vampire. A Vampire with this card inflicts an additional damage when striking with a Gun. A Vampire can have only one Gunner. Better? B)

Seemed like they still needed a bit of tweaking. Master At Arms Master Master: Archetype Choose a vampire you control; burn all other Archetypes on the chosen vampire. Put this card on the chosen vampire. This minion deals an additional damage on all attacks with melee weapons. A vampire may not have more than one Archetype. Marksman Master Master: Archetype Choose a vampire you control; burn all other Archetypes on the chosen vampire. Put this card on the chosen vampire. The minon deals an additional damage on all attacks with ranged weapons. A vampire may not have more than one Archetype. Retired Baron of Sydney, Australia, 418

It don't need to be archetype, and it make no thematic sense for those to be archetypes. Archetypes are all about regaining willpower represented as blood or doing stuff with willpower (say untap for 1 blood) for doing things in line with the vampire character. Not with boosting combat prowess. Sabbat.Black Hand Shakar: Lech loathe ranged weapons. Once each action, he may burn 1 blood to become Camarilla Prince of Krakow until the end of the action.

Although I find the effects too weak to let them cost a pool, even if you make gun-decks stronger. The Mastersection of combatdecks are often enough full enough of Fame, Tension and other important mastercards. So focusing on "Gunner" would be a hard choice for a pure Gundeck. The Ashes seems fine. If you steal them you equip them, right? So you get to choose the discis. Could be fun with Erciyes Fragments . Baron of Frankfurt

Ashes seem a bit strong when compared to Spontaneous Power, even if it can be stolen. The other two cards could be retainers. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

Yeah, but the point is to avoid having a Marksman Curmudgeon/Creepshow or say a Master At Arms-Sociopath. I don't mind the idea of having 4 or 5 vampires with say Marksman or Master-at-Arms... but I don't think there should be a combination of them and the existing Archetypes. The only card that gives an unconditional +damage in combat is Depravity. Its +strength, its unique and it costs 1 pool. So it seems to balance out to make it remove other archetypes (can't get bonus damage to melee and range). I could potentially see them being Trifles, but it may make them too powerful. The Elder's Ashes seems to be fairly strong, but I do think it should potentially involve a "combat theft" option... "A minion may enter combat with the minion with this equipment. During that combat, the minion which deals the most damage by the end of that combat move this equipment to that minion." Instead of just a action steal action. An equipment card that gives +1 cap just screams turbodeck to me. Perhaps with Kiss of Lachesis or Filchware's Pawn Shop or just have a ton of the Ashes in your deck. Give it to any old vamipre and give him/her "for" for freakdrvies and daring to trigger soulgem and we are off! Prince of Lidingö

Very true indeed. OTOH the equipment costs two pool everytime you equip it, three with Filchware's. Isn't that hard to pay even for a turbodeck? Easy nerf: no +1 cap of course. Baron of Frankfurt

I loved the sword master - gunner idea (with juggernaut's names and pendargon's text). IMHO, the idea seems balanced, since they do not give "unconditional" damage (you have to strike with a gun or melee weapon). Master at Arms may seem a little underpowered in comparisson to Depravity, but the diference comes to the uniqueness, since there may be only one depravity in game and many MaA. At a glimpse, the 1 pool cost may seem to low for a +1 damage, but it has to be considered that the extra damage requires an extra card (the weapon) to work.
