I seem to be missing something, I've noticed in a number of posts that it appears that some people belive that a scare vampire that clan impersonates no longer qualifies as scarce. I thought that since Scare was card text that it would be unaffected by a clan impersonation, or am I missing something. IE: Bring out scare vampire. It clan impersonates to - I don't know... a Malk - and then another scare vampire is brought out. It's still the second scarce vampire and so has to pay the three pool penalty correct? Thanks, -John

> I seem to be missing something, Yes, and it's a very simple thing : the scarce vampire stays scarce, but of another clan. And you only play 3 more pool if there is another scarce vampire of the same clan in play. So, unless you are dumb enough to impersonate a clan that already has a scarce vampire out, you're saved ! :-) -- Yours, Orpheus, Prince of Marseille http://no.exit.free.fr (onlive novel) http://cypheranima.free.fr (goth band) news://news.zoo-logique.org/VTES-francophone audio...@yahoogroups.com

That's not true, and that's not the position being put forward. > I thought that since Scare was card text that it would be unaffected > by a clan impersonation. By the scarce rule, you look for all the other *Salubri* in play (scarce or not) and pay 3 pool for each of them. You don't pay for any Malkavians (scarce or not) in play. See the Scarce rule. [BL 3.7] Yes, hence one of my earlier [silly] suggestions, to Tempt a scarce vampire, Clan Impersonate him to an abundant clan and then Banish him. :)

Many thanks, somehow my playgroup all missed that little phrase "of the same clan" in the rulebook. Guess its time to check our eyesight. -John

Clan Impersonation doesn't cost (the controller of a) controlled scarce vampires anything. There's only a couple ways you can be "dumb" about this: 1) Clan Impersonate _another_ clan with scarce vampires you have in your crypt (though I can imagine times when you might do this anyway). 2) Clan Impersonate a clan with lots of vampires on the board and then get your scarce vampire Banished.
