Here's another puzzler for you: IN a DCI tournament game, how many ways can you not lose any pool to a successful domain challenge that you call? [I'm not talking about gaining more pool than you lose, I am talking about not losing any pool] and here's a hint: Domain Challenge Cardtype: Political Action Political Card-Worth 1 Vote. Called by any vampire at +1 stealth. Successful <referendum> means each Methuselah burns 1 pool for each tapped minion he or she controls. Official Rulings Domain Challenge - Political Action Tapped minions are counted after the referendum is completed. Call the vote on the first action of your turn and during the PA, use Alexandra's special during the referendum. Sorrow

Minion with Rutor's hand untaps after action is successful, but before end of referendum (as has been mentioned) 2. Minion with fortitude untaps with Freak Drive. (Both seem to happen at the end of the action, and since there seems not to be any rulings on the matter, I'm going to say that I can order the effects so I don't lose a pool.) 3. A variation on everybody's Alexandria-untaps-acting-toreador solution, (so Alexandria doesn't wind up tapped.) Alexandria has a temptation that you control with counters equal to the amount of blood on Alexandria. (and to get to this point you will have to have gained control of Alexandria by some means, let's just say you used Form of Corruption.) Your Toreador calls the vote, you tap Alexandria to untap the Toreador, then burn the counters on the corruption and take control of Alexandria from yourself, and she untaps. :) No pool loss. 4. Julius has a fortitude master. He calls the vote with a Day Operation. At the end of the action when Julius should go to torpor, his card text causes him to burn instead. The vampire no longer exists, so you can't lose one for the domain challenge. That's all I can think of for now. There's probably another rogue solution or two out there. [RTR 19980623] There愀 other possible response similar to this, but correct. You can call the vote with a non-camarilla vampire and destroy it tu burn a played Judgement: Camarilla Segregation. (Put this card in play. Each Methuselah controlling a Non-Camarilla vampire burns 1 pool <during> his or her untap phase. Any Methuselah may burn this card by burning a Non-Camarilla vampire he or she controls during his or her minion phase.) [ quoted text not captured ]

Two more additional ways: * Vamp A: 2 cap with Tham and an Infernal Familiar calls the vote, it doesn't get blocked. During the referendum uses enough skill based action modifiers via the Infernal Familiar to cause her to burn. * Another variation of the burning aspect though, you're minion gets to the referendum, then plays Business Pressure. You then use every last bit of pool you have into the vote, ousting yourself. Thus never losing any pool for the Domain Challenge. Joe C. All right, contining on a theme... Your Malkavian has a temptation and counters equal to blood. There is a Madness Network in play. At the end of the acting player's minion phase who controls the temptation, you call the vote with your tempted Malkavian. During the referendum, the other player takes control of your Malkavian. You no longer have a tapped (or soon to be tapped) minion. I really don't think this is unique enough to be a new solution. It still relies on the temptation mechanic. > Solutions #5 can be achieved any of two ways, which only count as one > path to the solution (and that is all the hinting you get). You call the vote with a minion that has presence. That minion modifies the vote with business pressure. The other methuselahs oust themselves for whatever reason... (Perhaps they would have been ousted by the vote anyway) You win the game before the referendum ends. I rather doubt this is the solution #5 you refered to. Rob Grau rfg...@eos.ncsu.edu

I am still in discussions with LSJ regarding the validity of burning either the acting minion or the acting Meth. There are many ways to do either during an action, however, I continue to stipulate that if either the minion or the meth are burned before the Domain Challenge counts tapped minions, then the Domain Challenge action has not been sucessfully completed and passed. Perhaps that is not technically true in game terms, but that certainly exceeds my intentions in this puzzler. So far there is one path that has not been explored. It involves getting blocked. and no more hints should be necessary. Stu -Your Friendly Neighborhood Camarilla Scholar [ quoted text not captured ]

Okay, I've found the 'rather obvious' Solution #4: You have a vampire with superior dominate, say Lucian, use Mind Rape at Superior on a younger vampire you control, say Merrill Molitor with two Fortitude masters. Merrill, now tapped, uses Force of Will to bleed, then changes the FoW damage from aggravated to normal, and then Freak Drives when the action is successful. During your next minion phase, Merrill calls the Domain Challenge, and during the referendum, you use the Mind Rape effect to untap him and take control of Merrill from yourself. Still working on #5, Rob Grau rfg...@eos.ncsu.edu The Mind Rape card text {with errata} is below. Cost: 2 blood (D) Bleed with +2 bleed. (S) (D) Put this card on a younger vampire {and tap that vampire. The vampire with this card does not untap as normal during his controller's untap phase. During the acting vampire's controller's next minion phase, he or she must burn this card to untap the vampire and take control of the vampire until the end of his or her turn}.
