A twisted mind in my playgroup came up with the following question :
Mata Hari calls a Cardinal Benediction. Lubomira Hradok masks the
action. Can Mata Hari be chosen as the recipient of the title ?
If M1000F wasn't played, Mata Hari could obviously be chosen. Yet she
couldn't be chosen for a Cardinal Benediction played by Lubomira.
At first I thought that it worked as if Lubomira (and not Mata) had
played the Cardinal Benediction (the action resolves as if Lubomira
had played it in the first place), and the Benediction would not see
Mata as Sabbat.
Then I remembered that if Mata had played Lost in Crowds before the
action was masked, Lubomira still would not be considered as having
played Lost in Crowds for this action and could play it (or the old
mask + command of the beast combo no longer works ?). So even after
Mask is played, the Benediction could see Mata as Sabbat, as a Sabbat-
requiring card that has been played by Mata.
So in the end, I don't know if Mata can really become a (dormant)
Cardinal this way...

Correct. Similarly, Lubomira would pay any cost associated with playing the
card, not Mata. (0 in the case of Cardinal Benediction, you get the idea).

If her ability "stuck", then Lubomira would not be able to play Mask.
