First question: If during combat, you send your opponet into torpor, by lack of blood or agg. damage, can you press to diablerize your opponet? Second question: If I have a vampire in torpor, and my opponet brings out the same vampire into the active region, making both contested, why can this happen? If my opponet yields, the vampire is still in torpor, and if I yield, my opponet has the vampire with it's blood capacity at max. Wouldn't it make more sense if your vampire goes into torpor, that it becomes uncontolled? -Undaunt- P.S. In Vampire: The Masquerade, isn't a vampire's hand damage aggravated? Why isn't it so in Jyhad?

No. 1) Goin to torpor ends combat. 2) You cannot diablerize in combat by any means, ever. You can only _burn_ another vampire outright (By doing two more agg damge than the vampire has blood). >Second question: >If I have a vampire in torpor, and my opponet brings out the same >vampire into the active region, making both contested, why can this >happen? (Because). That's just the way the rules are to keep the game playable. >If my opponet yields, the vampire is still in torpor, and if I >yield, my opponet has the vampire with it's blood capacity at max. Or similiarly, on contested card can have a .44 Magnum, or be a Blood Doll or Famous, or have been name a Justicar - but the other is not. If the other win the contest (the "rich" one is yielded), then the vampire comes out without the good stuff. >Wouldn't it make more sense if your vampire goes into torpor, that it >becomes uncontolled? No. Control (influence) shouldn't be lost because the Kindred met with misfortune. >-Undaunt- >P.S. In Vampire: The Masquerade, isn't a vampire's hand damage >aggravated? Why isn't it so in Jyhad? Playability - who wants to go to torpor all the time? L. Scott PS - find the carriage return key, eh?

No. Diablerizing a vampire sent to torpor requires a separate action, or using a card such as Amaranth. >If I have a vampire in torpor, and my opponet brings out the same vampire >into the active region, making both contested, why can this happen?... Because both vampires are controlled by someone. The rule is not that ready cards get contested, the rule is that controlled cards get contested. >If my opponet yields, the vampire is still in torpor, and if I yield, >my opponet has the vampire with it's blood capacity at max... Exactly. A card which stops being contested comes back exactly as it was when it got contested. >P.S. In Vampire: The Masquerade, isn't a vampire's hand damage aggravated?... Not by default, no. You have to take a second, seperate action to encounter that vampire in torpor with the intention of diablerie (+0 stealth). > P.S. In Vampire: The Masquerade, isn't a vampire's hand damage > aggravated? Why isn't it so in Jyhad? Because Jyhad _isn't_ Vampire: The Masquerade. It's just based on it. -ben -- "I've seen things you wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tann- hauser gate. In V:tM, a vampire with Claws has aggravated damage, but claws requires Protean level 2 (I believe), so mainly only Gangrel actually have it. It's Werewolf claws that always do aggravated hand damage. But in a way, I'm glad that the Garou in the game doesn't. In VtM, the vampire's hand damage is only aggravated if they have Wolf Claws, Protean level2. The vampire's fang damage is aggravated. You may also be getting this confused with Werewolf hand damage which is aggravted. Stephen

In article <lanspeed-181...@port08.rain.org>, [ quoted text not captured ] Yes. Also if you have a controlled vamp in torpor, someone else can bring out a controlled version of that vamp and contest it with you. If he/she wins the contest, said vampire comes out at full health but with none of your vamps equip...weird eh?
