What happens when a Famous vampire is burnt (either normally, or via the oust of the controlling Methuselah)? Presumably the Fame is burnt as well, despite the fact that it's controlled by the Methuselah who played it. Can one auction off Fame using Malkavian Time Auction? Fish. -- New on eBay: Husamettin!

The fame is burnt as well, just the same as any cards on the vampire - regardless of controller (unless card text states otherwise). The card goes to its owner's ash heap, however. > Can one auction off Fame using Malkavian Time Auction? Yes. It's a card you control, so it's permissible. However, I see no reason for it to actually move anywhere, making it somewhat a strange action. Unless, say, there were three of us left on a table, James, Bill and Ben, say. Bill is going to oust me, but I have a fame on one of Ben's vampires. Deciding to king-make, a little, I want Bill to get Ben as well (say, Ben already has some victory points, and I'd prefer a split table, rather than Ben getting two more victory points, giving him a 4-1 win), so I sell it off to him with a Malkie Time Auction, just before he ousts me. Could be interesting seeing what happens there.... -- James Coupe

When a card is burned, all other cards (and counters) on it are burned as well (barring some other card text - like Soul Gem or Charnas the Imp). > > Can one auction off Fame using Malkavian Time Auction? > > Yes. Unless, say, there were three of us left on a table, James, Bill Well... in the "Malkavian Flea Market" deck I made, and after playing it a few times, MTA is basically a pool-gainer and trouble-causer. You can usually gain 3 pool per MTA if you're selling the right things - and it always opens up an entertaining dynamic, as people start wondering whether they should let their weenie OBF predator buy Tasha Morgan for 2, or if they are going to lose 3 pool from it ANYWAY and maybe should just get the benefit themselves with a bid... =) When any situation like this shows up (rare, though), you can often gain 5 pool, which is nearly equivalent to a Minion Tap, except your vamp keeps the blood. As far as Fame... well... if it MOVED once you gained control of it that might make sense. but yeah, it just sort of sits there :/ It's not like the Rack, which has card text specific to "gain control". -- Derek Deafness never kept composers from hearing the music.
