After playing a game of V:TES a few days ago with a group, a question occurred to me. If a tapped vampire is attacked by another vampire as a direct action can the tapped vampire defend itself against the onslaught or do they have to helplessly take the beating? In this game the rule was it had to take the punishment. I wasn't sure about the ruling concerning this so I did not contest it. Is there a rule? Please let me know. Thanks. Kathleen, Tell your group that they are wrong. Whether a minion is tapped or not has no effect on combat. A tapped vampire has exactly the same combat abilities and options as an untapped one. They don't have to take any whuppin's. Give 'em hell, Brujah!!! ;-) Doug Dunaway (An artisticly inept Torreador)

Now I know. =;) :They don't have to take any : whuppin's. Give 'em hell, Brujah!!! ;-) : Doug Dunaway : (An artisticly inept Torreador) You damn right I will, Torreador!!! Contracts and certain cards say attack a vampire with stealth while others say enter combant with the target minion. What is the difference between the two? Does attack mean you get to take a free strike at the target vampire (contracts being a surprise attack and assassination)? Danielle, Caitiff Justicar

[ quoted text not captured ] No. "Attack" and "Enter Combat" are the same. The only difference in the examples you mention would be the stealth level. -- L. I Highly recommend Hidden lurker for an Assamite deck. I may even rebuild my L.A. riots deck with assamites just to see someones expression who blocked an action of mine and got smacked by 3 Assamites without a strike in response. ********************************************************************** "...I'm just a hard-working girl trying to make it in a man's world." -Catwoman (Issue #30) *************************************** Dharia McGrew damc...@mhc.mtholyoke.edu and of course.....(in other words, LOOK AT IT!!!!) http://www.mtholyoke.edu/~damcgrew **********************************************************************

The card text merely allows someone to tak a D action to enter combat/attack soomeone. Any stealth gained from a card just means your harder to block and more likely to enter combat with the desired minion. Rory The Ref at refp...@best.com
