We played Jyhad^H^H^H^H^H VTES tonight for the first time since the DS cards came in, and a very interesting situation came up regarding this card. Fortunately, it was late in the game and didn't really matter at that point, but it will probably come up again... For this card (and all other Equipment cards which act as Unique Locations, such as Dartmoor et al) - which cards affect them? 1. Can a Palatial Estate be taken away by a Disputed Territory? 2. Cam it be stolen with a Steal Equipment? 3. Is it affected by a Peace Treaty? Basically, when someone else is doing something that affects this card, is it treated as Equipment, Location, both or neither? (Makes them really weak if _both_ can hose it, IMHO...) Shane H.W. Can a Palatial Estate be taken away by a Disputed Territory? #2. Cam it be stolen with a Steal Equipment? #3. Is it affected by a Peace Treaty? In answer to #2 and #3 my gut answer is NO, because of my answer to #1. Although it is out into play as equipment I see it as a location *unique* to that vampire. Consider that most unique locations, or any locations for that matter, are not normally so specific, ie- they effect all your vampires or you as the Methuselah. In this case, such cards are specific to *one* vampire. Since it does come into play it does get the +1 stealth action bonus and requires the acting minion to tap. But yet once it is in play it is treated as a unique location like it says on the card. Imagine if you will, a vampire trying to stealth around trying to take control of one specific location. This analysis seems to make sense to me. Any other opinions? Tom? -- Greg Zuvich |gzu...@symantec.com

Since the cache doesn't specify paying for blood costs vs. paying for pool costs, I see no reason why it would't be able to pay for cards like Palatial Estate. Something else for me to double check. My beliefs of exact interactoin: Whoever gets control of it would choose any of their minions (ready or in torpor) to put it on. If it is put on an ally, it does nothing. If someone doesn't have any minions, then they can't be chosen as the player to receive the location. I'll check notes with the others, though. >2. Cam it be stolen with a Steal Equipment? It's also equipment, so can be affect by anything that affects equipment. >3. Is it affected by a Peace Treaty? No, since it isn't a weapon. >Basically, when someone else is doing something that affects this card, >is it treated as Equipment, Location, both or neither? Both. >(Makes them really weak if _both_ can hose it, IMHO...) I've brought this up a couple of times, and nobody seemed inclined to say that they were locations *instead* of being equipment... My opinion on this is that the game should maintain the distinction between equiptment and location. Because the new "locations" have the equiptment symbol and because the cards say treat them as equiptment(I think they do at least) then you shouldn't be able to use Disputed Territory, but they could be stolen. As for the last question, I thought peace treaty only worked on weapons.
