Projectile Combat (Common) Celerity [cel] Strike: 1R damage or make a ranged weapon strike. This strike cannot be dodged. [CEL] As above, with an additional strike. Does that mean that if weapon inflicts aggravated damage, this stike does it also? sinaath -- reply to: my_...@gmail.com Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we would all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

You're making a ranged weapon strike with all restrictions and characteristics relevant to that particular ranged weapon strike. -- Bye, Daneel

cardtext: 'make a ranged weapon strike' this is (I assume) meant to be understood as: 'make a strike with a ranged weapon'. I can just about see how this can be misunderstood as: make strike with a weapon and that strike will be ranged', though I thought it was fairly obvious what it does. another thought: from 6.4.2. Determine Range 'If a minion uses the maneuver from a strike card or a weapon, he is effectively choosing his strike as well.' I assume using a maneuver from a weapon would prevent this strike from being played as the first strike that round.

"Ranged weapon" isn't quite right. Both "ranged" and "weapon" modify "strike". Make a ranged strike that is a weapon strike. > I can just about see how this can be misunderstood as: make strike with > a weapon and that strike will be ranged', though I thought it was > fairly obvious what it does. > > another thought: > from 6.4.2. (and regarding using the weapons maneuver): ok, makes sense since IIRC the rules say that you must strike with the weapon you used for the maneuver, which you would still be doing if you played this card.

Hmm now I'm confused.. I thought it's something simillar to earthshock so you can use close-range weapons at long range. But that would be bad. This wording isn't clear to me, though. It's too close to "strength ranged damage". sinaath

It's too close to "strength ranged damage". One instructs you to make a strike. That strike must be of the type indicated ("ranged weapon strike"). The other describes the effect of a strike: it inflicts damage of a certain amount and type ("strength ranged damage"). [ quoted text not captured ]

No, it is "make a strike with a ranged weapon that can't be dodged and if you have CEL, you also get an additional strike". So if you have an Ivory Bow or a Magnum, you can use projectile to use that weapon to make a strike that can't be dodged, and if you have CEL, you also get an additional strike. If you have a Sengir Dagger or a Talbot's Chainsaw, you can use the Projectile to do 1R damage and maybe get an additional strike, as SD or TC don't make ranged strikes.
