"Revrulebook.txt" says the following: the Steal Blood effect "occurs before the 'heal damage' step of damage resolution, so the stolen blood can be used to heal damage even if the damage is inflicted simultaneously". To add some words, the stolen blood can be used to heal damage that was received during the strike where the blood was stolen. Fine. That's the way I understood it. However, I was looking thru that itty-bitty rule book that comes with starter decks, and I was surprised by the following section. 21.1 Stealing blood Eliza (a 3-cap) has 2 blood and steals 2 blood from good ol' Cassandra. Eliza sheds the 4th blood. In that same strike, Cassandra hits Eliza with 3 damage. "Eliza has taken 3 points of damage. Despite the fact that Eliza has 3 blood points, the third point can't be used to heal damage (since it was just stolen). The unfortunate Tremere goes into torpor." So what's up with this?? [ quoted text not captured ] The example was in error, even by the same rulebook (section 8.3): "The stolen blood will also heal the vampire immediately. This blood can be burned by damage that is not dealt with First Strike." In any case, the revised rulebook is the most recent and supercedes all previous rulebooks (and rulesheets). -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) V:TES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. It is no longer valid. Also, It is likely that you might have been reading the rules for the Basic Game they tried to design into the change with the card backs... Regards, R.
