Our playgroup has a question about this card. Do Thetmes deal aggravated damage if he uses it? This can of course be generalized to other situations, but we'll be happy with an answer to the specific question. While we're at it, what about Basilia and Scorpion Sting? I guess these two situations (and more) go under the unofficial "ruling" by LSJ I saw in another thread. Comment by LSJ from other thread: > Hand Strike: any non-weapon strike that does damage based on > the damage done by a non-range innate strike (hand strike). Anyhow we'll accept LSJ:s word if there aren't any official rulings on this. -- Home address: Kristofer Wårell E-mail: d95...@sm.luth.se Vänortsvägen 22:44 kriw...@student.luth.se 977 54 LULEÅ to...@ludd.luth.se Phone: 0920/23 27 14 Cellphone: 0705/23 69 97

Same for other stuff that increases hand damage (eg. Bang Nakh Claws) on vampires that inflict agg. hand damage. Dunno what the "official" word is on that though. Both theese cards are increasing you HAND DAMAGE and do not state anything about MELEE WEAPONS. Therefor thetmes is doing 4-hand aggrevated damage with Khabar Honour and basilia 2 aggrevated damage with scorpion sting. But you cannot use any of theese two with a melee weapon. If pharnasus uses a Sengir Dagger and strikes with Khabar Honor, then his damage is 5 hand damage, and not aggrevated. My advice is that you drop all aditional errata on hand damage and go by the rulebook: There are three possible strikes: Strike with weapon(if its a melee weapon, then its a meleeweapon strike), strike with hands=Hand damage strike and finally strike with a card. If the card is stated +X damage on hand or melee weapon, then it can be used on hand strikes and melee weapon strikes. If the card is stated +X hand damage (only) then it can only be used on hand strikes. Hand strikes is all strike cards that declare something about "Use your hands" or "Hand strike" to do damage. Khabar Honour and Scorpion sting go under "use your hands", and therefor all hand damage modifiers apply like basilias and Thetmes special ability.

If you go by the rulebook, when bang nakh is used you are doing a WEAPON STRIKE, not a HAND STRIKE. You must use a strike card that declares something about "Melee weapon" if you want to increase that damage.

All other melee weapons, with the exception of Kali's Fang and Sengir Dagger use the 'minion w/ this equip. has +2 hand damage'. All of these must be used as strikes for the bearer to get the bonus. When used as strikes, all of these produce weapon strikes, not hand strikes. The template is horrible. Treat them all as if they were written in the old Jyhad template: "Strike: +N hand damage" -- L.
