I seem to recall reading somewhere that only Camm vamps could be made Archons. But upon reading LSJs website, I do not see anything about that anywhere. Can Independant and Sabbat vamps become an Archon (if, of course, a P/J votes them as such)? Sorrow

In article <w5384.3540$bX4....@dfw-read.news.verio.net>, [ quoted text not captured ] No. Sabbat Rules Insert - Camarilla Membership Has Its Privileges Only Camarilla vampires can: - be Primogen or Princes. - call Praxis Seizures, Justicar Retribution, Command of the Harpies, or Masquerade Enforcement - the effect can target any vampire - call a vote to burn Elysium: The Arboretum or Masquerade Enforcement * - can be chosen as an Archon or Camarilla Exemplary (however, all vampires suffer the effects of blocking them) - can become Primogen using the Of Noble Blood card from the Dark Sovereigns expansion, though any vampire may call the action. Independent and Sabbat vampires can only use these abilities if they have a Writ of Acceptance from the Ancient Hearts expansion. Carpe Noctem. Mr. Lasombra, sir: You said that: > Only Camarilla vampires can: > - be Primogen or Princes. > - call Praxis Seizures, Justicar Retribution, Command of the > Harpies, or Masquerade Enforcement > - call a vote to burn Elysium: The Arboretum or > Masquerade Enforcement > * - can be chosen as an Archon or Camarilla Exemplary > (however, all vampires suffer the effects of blocking them) > Independent and Sabbat vampires can only use these abilities > if they have a Writ of Acceptance from the Ancient Hearts expansion. However, can non-Camarilla vampires (e.g. a Prisci or Bishop) vote on these matters?? Or can they just not CALL the vote?? Or can they just not CALL the vote?? No vampires are prohibited by default from voting on any vote. A card such as Inner Circle (I can think of no others, but may be wrong) would be required to do such. It is, as you say, merely a prohibition of calling the vote or, in some instances, being chosen as the recipient of such. -- James Coupe

James is thinking of Closed Session not "Inner Circle" which is a title, not a card. > It is, as you say, merely a prohibition of calling the vote or, > in some instances, being chosen as the recipient of such. The cards/actions specificied in the Sabbat Rules Addendum only prohibit who may call or benefit from the actions, not who may vote in them. In general, all vampires with votes may vote in all referendums unless prohibited by specific card text like Cardinal Benediction or Closed Session. [ quoted text not captured ]

Does Writ of Acceptance work on Sabbat? In my game, we always hold 'Non-Camarilla' and 'Sabbat' to be two seperate things. There's also a few other cards that could be really gross if they were held to be same (Covenant of Blood, frex). I think we also allow Sabbat vampires to call the vote to burn Elysium, but then, I'm not sure if its ever really come up. I think in the future, I'll allow Sabbat vampires to be chosen as Archons or Camarilla exemplaries. Happens in our vampire RPG :) Rob

As far as the game is concerned, any member of a "Non-Camarilla" or Sabbat clan is 'Non-Camarilla' and may play cards as such. Covenant of Blood makes more sense for the Sabbat to play than it does for the Independent clans to play but that's just my personal preference. Yes, Writ of Acceptance works for Sabbat vampires.
