Okay, this happened in a horrible game at the GLQ, in which several rules were forgotten about or messed up (FBI Special Affairs, Tension from the Ranks, Sensory Dep), several turns had to be retaken, David Wilson had to be called over repeatedly, someone was ousted when he shouldn't have been, and a miscommunication ended up in me seeming like a dealbreaker. (I was a dirty schemer, not a dealbreaker!) If this too was a rule that we messed up, then the game was even more effed up than we thought and I demand a rematch! ;) I had Uchenna with one blood and a No Secrets from the Magaji. Erichtho does an action and Uchenna attempts to block. Erichto plays Crocodile's Tongue at superior, which cancels the block since Uchenna cannot pay two blood. Does the No Secrets from the Magaji burn? David said yes, which makes some sense, but I could see the flipside argued too. Since Croc Tongue "cancels" the block, doesn't that mean the block effectively never happens? Relevant text: No Secrets: "Put this card on this magaji and untap him or her. The magaji with this card gets +1 intercept when attempting to block vampires. If this magaji is tapped, he or she may attempt to block a vampire as if untapped. Burn this card if this magaji attempts to block a vampire but is not successful. A vampire may have only one No Secrets From the Magaji." Crocodile's Tongue: "aus Only usable when an ally or younger vampire attempts to block. That block is canceled (the minion is not tapped). The blocking minion's controller cannot attempt to block this action again. The blocking minion can cancel this card by burning a blood or life. AUS As above, but canceling this card requires an additional blood or life." Thanks! Neil

The answer is within the card texts: Uchenna _attempted_ to block - which allowed Crocodile's Tongue to be played in the first place (card text). Crocodile's Tongue then goes on and cancels the block, but this does not matter now - the attempt was made, and that is all the card text on No Secrets from the Magaji is looking for. The No Secrets is burned. Greetings, Hardy Range Prince of Bochum, Germany http://www.vekn.de

Correct. -- That is my story, be it bitter or be it sweet. Keep a little and let a little come back to me. I heard a complaint from a player at that tournament that No Secrets was too powerful and would surely be errated in the future. This, of course, after I had just tooled Olugbenga with it. In what can only be described as irony, he then bled me out with his presence weenies and Propagandas.

[ quoted text not captured ] There are gazillion ways to destroy No Secrets: - daring the dawn - day operation - call of the hungry dead - elder impersonation and of course packing enough stealth... or beating the vampire into oblivion

David Wilson, Mask of a Thousand Names

I was right! hooray! too many rules questions that day, I hope that I didn't make any errors. Cheers, David

It's a good card and may stop some boring, repetative decks cold, but anyone can build around it. Matt Morgan
