Ok first of I know that the anansi can not use taste of vitea, arons
feeding razor, inbase disco etc..On the other hand the rpg background
from the oWoD has always been held quite high in the game. That is one
of the reasons i love the game so much. So here is my actual question:
Why can't an ananasi use such cards ? They drink blood the same way
vampires do. The vampirephile even hunts the same way vampires do.
Well kind of, a +1 stealth action to add one blood/life counter to the
minion.
I'm not saying that every detail from the rpg needs to be transported
to the ccg. I'm just very curious if this was ever discuss during
desing. What arguments stood for and against letting the ananasi
profit from such cards.
My guess is, that it was because of too complex wording needed and
lack of space on the card.
Just to make sure no one missunderstands my intention with this
question, I'm not criticising the descision I just would like to know
how it was formed.
Thanks in advance and greetings from hamburg, germany

Card text.

Largely, it's this. There are other factors, though.
- Most library allies aren't intended to be the prime motivators of a
deck. (One or two, such as War Ghouls, come close!) If they can do
everything your vampires can, it's harder.
- If you give a card (any card) lots more abilities that are actually
useful, you have to give it an increased cost - either in terms of
absolute pool, or difficulty to maintain (e.g. Robert Carter), or
giving it burn clauses, or similar. A simpler, cheaper card may
actually be more useful to more people. It's often easier for the
opponents facing the card, too - they don't have to learn 20
exceptions for the Vampirephile, and then a slightly different set of
exceptions for the Aquatic Werebear in Blood Dimmed Tides, and so on.
- If you give a card lots more abilities that are just fluff (i.e 99% of
people playing the card won't ever use them), it starts taking up a
lot of space.
- Picking and choosing which abilities you take will always lead to
disappointments somewhere. Most vampires, for example, have many more
disciplines in the RPG - that one level of Obtenebration they learned
from a Lasombra antitribu pirate, those few levels of Auspex that
aren't translated into V:TES, or whatever.

Exactly.
Abactor, in particular, would be problematic.
Similarly, since it isn't a true hunt (in the card game), it isn't
affected by
(Well, and perhaps backstory for Aaron's Feeding Razor: depending on
what the particular enchantment is with that artifact).
