The text is worded such that you can't exclude your opponent's strike even if somehow you get first strike, can you? Darn... ~SV

Pounce at first strike will preclude the opponent's "mundane" strike. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Maybe we add Celerity (for Backstab) or Cel + Obf (Shadow Feint). And then again, there's always the popular Gargoyles with Quietus route (Veil of Silence and Silence of Death). BTW: Did anyone else notice that White Wolf promotes Bloodlines as having "over a dozen new factions and vampiric powers." But there are only a dozen new clans (not over a dozen). Technically, you might count the vampiric powers distinct from the factions, but then you might as well put some other number like 20+ or something. Hmmm... Halcyan 2

I never heard this before ;) I think backstab is great for this 7cap gargoyle slave, who can collapse the arches without retaliation. > BTW: Did anyone else notice that White Wolf promotes Bloodlines as having "over > a dozen new factions and vampiric powers."
