(Avalon Too) Today I received the following questions from several players: 1) DRAGOS with skill Fortitude: If he plays HIDDEN STRENGTH must he burn blood to prevent more than 1 Damage. 2) The EMBRACE : First you create an EMBRACE, then You give it a skill card next You tap HEIDELBURG CASTLE to give it 2 blood. Must the EMBRACE hunt ignoring the excess blood or can't she hunt and can she do other actions. 3) HIDDEN LURKER: Someone told as there is an errata on HL, it is an action modifier and not an action. If this is correct, must the vampire wich uses HL tap ? 4) Reaction Cards: Can 2 reaction cards with the same be played if there are 2 different types of reaction on the card ? EAGLE SIGHT +1 intercept (Sup) Attempt To Block Any Action From Any Vampire 5) CHARNAS THE IMP: Put Charnas on any minion, So you can play Charnas on a MUDDLED VAMPIRE ? 6) Repeat Action Rule: Can You play GOVERN The UNALIGNED +2 bleed FREAK DRIVE and then play GTA Superior

[LSJ 970224] Dragos does not burn blood to play combat cards. > 2) The EMBRACE : > First you create an EMBRACE, then You give it a skill card > next You tap HEIDELBURG CASTLE to give it 2 blood. > Must the EMBRACE hunt ignoring the excess blood or can't she hunt and > can she do other actions. She must hunt (card text on embrace) and cannot (rules regarding hunting when at capacity), so she is stuck, and cannot act. > 3) HIDDEN LURKER: > Someone told as there is an errata on HL, it is an action modifier and > not an action. If this is correct, must the vampire > wich uses HL tap ? It is correct. The lurker must be untapped and is tapped by playing Hidden Lurker. Hidden Lurker - Action (ob): Card text (errata for being an action modifier): "Usable only by an untapped vampire other than the acting minion after the acting minion is blocked and combat is over. Tap this vampire. This vampire now enters combat with the blocking minion. The first round of combat, the blocking minion cannot use any strikes. Superior: As above, but with an optional press." [LSJ 970224] > 4) Reaction Cards: > Can 2 reaction cards with the same be played if there are 2 > different types of reaction on the card ? > EAGLE SIGHT > +1 intercept > (Sup) Attempt To Block Any Action From Any Vampire No. Rulebook (3.2.2.) A minion cannot use two identical reaction cards to react to an action. > 5) CHARNAS THE IMP: > Put Charnas on any minion, > So you can play Charnas on a MUDDLED VAMPIRE ? Yes, Muddled Vampire Hunters are minions. > 6) Repeat Action Rule: > Can You play GOVERN The UNALIGNED +2 bleed FREAK DRIVE and > then play GTA Superior No. Actions are also "the same" by card name, in addition to being the same by rulebook-defined action class. -- L. I hit Dragos for 52 points of damage with a card from the next expansion (only kidding), and the player of Dragos uses Hidden Strength and says"I would be willing to spend 51 blood to set the card this high, but I am Dragos, and don't pay for combat cards, muh-hah-hah-hah!" Well, yes, if he has fortitude. But so is Skin of Steel and Superior Mettle (which function for anybody with fortitude, not just Dragos who would reduce their cost by 1). No need to wait for the next expansion. Just pile up enough Increase Strength, and then hit him with some Pot strike. I don't know what proportion of Increase Strength you need for this to become likely, but it can certainly be done. And yes, Dragos with Fortitude becomes a cool preventer, but well, Skin of Steel is pretty cool as well if you don't pay, or underpay, your combat cards (say, a Tremere with Fortitude and Ankara Citadel).
