In a JOL game I am playing Lorrie Dunsirn has just blocked Andrea Giovanni who only has 2 blood on him. Now Lorries additional strike already exists, effectively 'been played' so surely she has to do something with that additional strike, such as the default hands strike, or can she chose to not use her additional strike? [ quoted text not captured ] Why do you bother ? Just kick that damn Andrea's butt, he killed me !! ;)

(emphasis mine) I would say that the lack of the word optional in Lorries card text makes the strike mandatory. Frede

hmmm....good question. But I believe additional strikes unless stated as mandatory are optional. But I've been known to be wrong before. -tpl

Correct. -- That is my story, be it bitter or be it sweet. Keep a little and let a little come back to me. She also "has a press" like Frenzy/Trap/Talbot's and cannot press to end due to her card text. Is she thus similarly forced to use her press to continue? Or is the press optional, even though it does not explicitly say so? Cheers, WES

For example, is she allowed to play card to press in the first round, and then use her built in in the second round? If she is allowed to choose to do that, does that mean she can choose not to use her built in press in the first round and just not press? Or is she required to use her mandatory press first up each combat? and thus, if she is blocking, and the acting minion doesn't want a second round and all they have is a press to continue, so they play it, and then lorrie is forced to press to end? or can you play multiple presses to continue, even if the opposing minion has pressed to continue? salem http://www.users.tpg.com.au/adsltqna/VtES/index.htm (replace "hotmail" with "yahoo" to email)

[ quoted text not captured ] She can't press to end by her card text, so she doesn't use her press, as the rules prohibit pressing to continue if there's already an uncanceled press to continue. Like most situations (being grappled after maneuvering with a gun, for example, or blocked hunting at zero blood and play change of target), if you're forced to do something you can't do, you do nothing instead. I *think* that this means she still has an unused press on the second round in your second example. It's the only thing that makes sense to me. [ quoted text not captured ]
