Undying Tenacity + Amaranth

I think I know the answer to this, but I'm not sure. Say I have a vampire with basic fortitude who strikes his opponent with a wooden stake for 2 damage (say he plays Lucky Blow), but is either dealt an aggravated damage or enough damage to send him to torpor. At this point, we would both be going to torpor, so I understand that Amaranth can't be played. Say I play Undying Tenacity (or Undead Persistence for that matter), can I now diablarize the opposing vamp using Amaranth? I think that I don't understand the state of "going into torpor" and if Undying Tenacity gives you some delay/exception before it takes effect that would allow you to play cards you couldn't normally play. For example, I would think that a vampire using Undying Tenacity could use Taste of Vitae (which would not be playable by a vampire who is simply going into torpor), at least if there would be another round of combat. My guess is that once another minion is going into torpor from damage or whatever, undying tenacity wears off and you are no longer able to play taste, amaranth, etc. Brandon Wooden Stake Melee Weapon Strength damage each strike. If more than 1 damage is inflicted on an opposing vampire by this weapon in a given combat, then that vampire is sent to torpor. In that case, this card is transferred to that vampire, he or she doesn't untap as normal during the untap phase as long as he or she remains in torpor. Amaranth Combat Card Only usable by a vampire who can commit diablerie. Only usable when the opposing vampire should go to torpor. Diablerize the opposing vampire instead. Not usable by a vampire going into torpor. Taste of Vitae Only usable at the end of a round of combat. Not usable by a vampire going into torpor. This vampire gains an amount of blood equal to the amount lost by the opposing vampire to damage during this round of combat. A vampire can play only 1 Taste of Vitae each round. Undying Tenacity [for] Only usable when this vampire should go to torpor. This vampire will not go to torpor until after combat ends (although he or she is still wounded and can be burned by aggravated damage). [FOR] Press or prevent 1 damage.

Yes. With Undead Persistence or Undying Tenacity, the vampire is not going to torpor, so he can play Amaranth. The fact that xe is scheduled to go to torpor after combat doesn't factor into Amaranth. > For example, > I would think that a vampire using Undying Tenacity could use Taste of > Vitae (which would not be playable by a vampire who is simply going > into torpor), at least if there would be another round of combat. > > My guess is that once another minion is going into torpor from damage > or whatever, undying tenacity wears off and you are no longer able to > play taste, amaranth, etc. The vampire can play Taste, Amaranth, etc. [ quoted text not captured ]
