Following the discussion about ex-nihiled mummies, and the difference between "play" a card and "use" a card terminology, i'm wondering now about the "gain" blood / life term, and what it implies: under ex-nihilo, a vamp cannot "gain" blood, so palatial estate, giants blood, the rack, hunting grounds and other "gain blood" effect are out. However, some cards (like Blood dolls, Leonardo Mortician) "move" a blood on a vampire, so: the vampire is cosidered to have "gained" it, or "move a blood" effect isn't under the "no gain" restriction of ex-nihilo (and similar effect?). Imho, "move blood" should be separate from "gain blood", much like under a Brainwash "transfer" blood on an uncontrolled vamp is forbidden, but a "move" blood (by a zillah's valley) is allowed. Your opinion ? Emiliano, prince of Rome

If you move a blood to a vampire with 4, then the result is that he has 5. This is a gain of 1 for the vampire. Any blood moved to the vampire with the "no-gain" restriction would be moved to the blood bank. > Imho, "move blood" should be separate from "gain blood", > much like under a Brainwash "transfer" blood on an uncontrolled vamp is > forbidden, > but a "move" blood (by a zillah's valley) is allowed. Brainwash restricts tranfers, which are well-defined in the rules. "gain" has no special definition in the rules, so the standard English definition is used. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
