Last time, someone in our VteS group played Goodnight, Sweet Prince, and we had a question about how it worked. I had thought it was a one-shot card; you pay 2 pool, tap a Ravnos, and munch the top vamp of your prey's crypt, gaining back your 2 pool if it's a Prince. He said that GSP stays in play; every master phase, you may tap a Ravnos to burn a crypt card and maybe gain pool. Tom? Who's right?

[ quoted text not captured ] The only way the card would be any good is if it stayed on the table and you could use it over and over. Consider it to be a sort of investment. You pay 2 pool and you hope to earn it back and then some by muching your opponents crypt. It would be stupid and pointless if you could only use it once so I go for the interpretation that it stays on the table. It works very slowly and your prey will use his 4 transfers to get cards off his crypt and into his uncontrolled region. The card is interesting and not too powerful.

This is a good card to play on people who like to play with NL in the crpyt and like princes. Errol T

[ quoted text not captured ] Do some people actually put a card limit on the crypt. I would think that just logic would put a limit on it. You don't want to put in too many of the same vampire because if you do, you'll probably end up with unusable duplicates, and unless you are playing against a seriously nasty combat deck, vampires don't leave play that often. If there's one vampire you really like I see nothing wrong with putting in extras, the disadvantages seem to balance out any advantages. Chad Lubrecht

All master cards that are put into play say to put them into play (or on something), or are locations. Goodnight doesn't qualify on either count, so is a one shot.
