Some interesting discussion is being generated with the question of who controls what Master cards, within my group. Based upon your last answer concerning masters, this is what I came up with. Master cards are played and controlled by the playing Methuselah unless it is stolen (Examples: Dauntain Black Magician for Discipline Masters or Disputed Territory for Location Master) or traded (via Succubus Club) at which time control of the affected Master(s) is/are transferred. When the controlling player is removed from the table then all Masters currently controlled by that player are removed no matter where they are on the table. Action cards are played by minions. If the action provides a special capability, then the minion to whom it is played upon becomes the controller of the card (whether wanted or not - example: Seeds of Corruption or Pulse of the Canaille at Superior). The action card is removed when the owning minion's controller is removed from the table. If the above is a correct interpretation, then this question was raised that I am unable to answer. If a minion is stolen (say via Form of Corruption) are the Masters (i.e. Blood Doll, Disciplines, Legendary, Fame, Vast Wealth, Legacy of Caine, Etc...) stolen as well or are they still under the control of the Methuselah who originally played them? Reason for question: To determine who controls what Masters for removal purposes due to player attrition. ========== A question of whether or not Temptations are stackable upon a minion has been raised. If so, would each Temptation act separately? or would the removal of counters on 1 Temptation force the removal on all the Temptations on that minion? Reason for question: To see if temporary control can be attained several turns in a row if the Tempted minion fell within the guidelines of the Temptation Text. ========== Are action cards that impart a special ability (whether permanent or removable by other as a (D) action) discarded upon their success or must they be placed on (or under) the minion gaining the special ability? Reason for question: To see if a used but still active action card can be reused if obtained via Whispers of the Dead if the action card does not necessarily have to go on (or under) a minion upon it's success. ========== Thanks Michael Eichler Prince of Ramstein ----- Posted via NewsOne.Net: Free (anonymous) Usenet News via the Web ----- http://newsone.net/ -- Free reading and anonymous posting to 60,000+ groups NewsOne.Net prohibits users from posting spam. Correct, as stated in [1.6.2] and [1.3]. > Action cards are played by minions. [1.6.3], [1.3], I'd replace "owning minion" with "minion with the card", but OK. > If the above is a correct interpretation, then this question was raised that I > am unable to answer. > > If a minion is stolen (say via Form of Corruption) are the Masters (i.e. Blood > Doll, Disciplines, Legendary, Fame, Vast Wealth, Legacy of Caine, Etc...) > stolen as well or are they still under the control of the Methuselah who > originally played them? Only the minion is stolen. The minion cards on him change controllers by virture of [1.6.3], but the master cards do not [1.6.2]. > Reason for question: To determine who controls what Masters for removal > purposes due to player attrition. > > ========== > A question of whether or not Temptations are stackable upon a minion has been > raised. No. > Reason for question: To see if temporary control can be attained several turns > in a row if the Tempted minion fell within the guidelines of the Temptation > Text. Yes. > ========== > Are action cards that impart a special ability (whether permanent or removable > by other as a (D) action) discarded upon their success or must they be placed > on (or under) the minion gaining the special ability? Depends on card text. If a card is "put in play" or can be "burned" by some effect, then it is put in play. If not, it isn't. > Reason for question: To see if a used but still active action card can be > reused if obtained via Whispers of the Dead if the action card does not > necessarily have to go on (or under) a minion upon it's success. If it is in play, no. If not, yes. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Links to revised rulebook, rulings, errata, and tournament rules: http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/
