LSJ: contesting your own cards?

Can a methuselah contest his own cards with a duplicate? ie: two hunting grounds of the same type (to burn a card) Im guessing he can, paying the pool, and burning one at any time as usual? T

You can only burn a card to avoid contesting it during your untap phase.
