[LSJ] Nightmares upon Nightmares Question

If a methuselah is left with an empty hand during his untap, by burning cards to untap minions that are not immune to NuN, can he fail to burn a card to untap a minion ? If not, then this card is the true weenie bane. Because when you play with 10+ low-cap minions, then it is a matter of few turns before you run out of library cards and additionaly you cannot untap more than x minions by burning cards (x = your hand size).
