All the other allies seem to pe phrased "as a vampire with capacity <insert life points here>" Rafastio Ghoul plays thaumaturgy as a vampire with a capacity of 3. Is this a misprint in some way, as it only has 2 life? And while we're on subject: Does it really matter? Would the Rafastio in this case be able to Theft of Vitea herself up to three life? Can allies that are allowed to play some disciplines also play disciplineless cards that require vampires (i.e. Taste of Vitea) Can allies that are allowed to play a discipline cards also play a card of that given discipline if it requires a vampiren? i.e. Akhenaten playing a Ex Nihilo. This would in my opinion be parallell to the use of wake cards. Wake: "can use reaction cards and attempt to block as though untapped" Akhenaton: "may play cards rquiring basic Necromancy as a vampire with a capacity of 3" Quite similar wording. And if Akhenaten may play his Ex Nihilo, how's this card handled later? "during you master phase this vampire burns 1 blood or is burned" Allies ignore all burn blood effects, right? I.e. Akhenaton can sneak around until someone smashes him for two aggrevated damsage. <please insert here: Correct> /Henke

Allies can already exceed their "capacity" anyway. When the "blood" hits the ally, it converts to life. As a result, the capacity doesn't affect them - which only limits blood on a vampire, not life on an ally. So you really can have allies with 1000000000000000000000000000000000000 life on them. -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D "You reinstall Dial-Up Networking. An ally's starting life, pool cost, and capacity-equivalence are not intrinsically tied to each other in any way. > Does it really matter? Inasfar as card text on the ally specifies that the ally is able to play the card "as a vampire". > i.e. Akhenaten playing a Ex Nihilo. > This would in my opinion be parallell to the use of wake cards. > Wake: "can use reaction cards and attempt to block as though untapped" > Akhenaton: "may play cards rquiring basic Necromancy as a vampire with a > capacity of 3" > > Quite similar wording. But he is not a vampire for the rest of the effect, so he ignores the rest of the card text (he gets no damage reduction for his strikes, is not immune to any damage, and doesn't get +1 stealth. He also isn't burned for failing to burn a blood during your master phase). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Text only allows you to play cards requiring $DISCIPLINE, not blanket 'cards requiring a vampire,' although that would certainly be an interesting tack to take on some elder ghoul-type card. >Can allies that are allowed to play a discipline cards also play a card of >that given discipline if it requires a vampiren? >i.e. Akhenaten playing a Ex Nihilo. When Akkie plays XNil, he is acting 'as a vampire', so XNil's 'vampire' text applies to him. Note that Akkie's text says he 'plays' the card 'as a vampire,' so he's no longer considered a vampire as regards Ex Nihilo after the card's been played. So he gets to ignore the burn blood effect. Hm. But it _does_ say 'the vampire with this card.' Which he ain't. Tricky. Now I'm all confused. I think, however, that he either ignores all the effects (burn blood, +1 stealth, immune to agg) or he gets them all. >This would in my opinion be parallell to the use of wake cards. >Wake: "can use reaction cards and attempt to block as though untapped" >Akhenaton: "may play cards rquiring basic Necromancy as a vampire with a >capacity of 3" Yeah. The important part of the ability is 'may _play_ cards...' (emphasis added). So a hypothetical card that helped/hindered all vampires with Necromancy would bypass Akhenaten entirely (unless he played it). It's like Ian Forestal, who can play Fortitude cards all day long, but is still a legal target for Kiss of Ra barring skill cards. >Quite similar wording.
