This happened last night and we needed some clarification: Vittorio Giovanni used clan impersonation to become a Lasombra, but as he didn't want to be a Sabbat (as Hannibal was in the game) he decided to be a Lasombra Independent like Lucita. Is this fair? Could he then use Clan Loyalty so that Lasombras can't block? And, if this is the case, could a vampire become a Malkavian Antitribu Independent or a Toreador Independent or a Ravnos Camarilla? Thanks! Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

He's Sabbat, whether he wants to be or not. [10] > And, if this is the case, could a vampire become a Malkavian Antitribu > Independent or a Toreador Independent or a Ravnos Camarilla? Ravnos Camarilla is possible with a Writ of Acceptance or a successful Ravnos Acceptance referendum. The others are not possible under the current card set. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. What if a Camarilla vampire equips with a Writ of Acceptance and then gets Deranged? Does the Derange override the effect of the Writ, or does the Writ modify sect status after the Derange effect is factored in? >>Can I play a Clan Impersonation and chose to become one of the Independent >>Antitribu clans (eg !Ravnos), i'm guessing not. but you never know. Yeah you can only choose among the clans currently in the game (the clans listed in the rulebook). If WW does decide to introduce the !Ravnos into the game, then you'll be able to Clan Impersonate into them. Halcyan 2

The Lasombra

The Derange makes the vampire a Malkavian Antitribu, and the Writ keeps it a member of the Camarilla. The vampire becomes a Camarilla Malkavian Antitribu. Derange does not specify anything about sect, so only effects the sect of the victim when other effects are not in play (ie, Writ of Acceptance). Carpe Noctem. Yes, if she changes clans by doing so (so she'd have to be non-Lasombra when she takes the action to impersonate a Lasombra). [ quoted text not captured ]
