Can a Ghoul Retainer use a weapon of his employer if he is employed by a minion who is blocking a vampire with a Spiritual Protector? Sensory Deprivation is listed as an undirected action. Shouldn't it be a (D) action? The inferior version of Shepherd's Innocence is arguably a (D) action as well, is this right? Same for the inferior (only) version of The Trick of the Danya (I think this question has been asked before - sorry if I missed the answer). -- L. Why could it not be used on self? There are other examples of cards which allow a (D) action which can be used on onesself - Arson and Sacrificial Lamb are the first two which come to mind, although I know there are others... True. Just like Rampage could be used to burn a location you control. Rampage gets a (D) because it's typical use is directed at another Methuselah. This should as well, for the same reason. This should, actually, be directed when directed at another methuselah and not when not, like the Commit Diablerie action, but the Rules Team says such actions do not exist (in other words, there is no Commit Diablerie Action). So, as long as we get the power-granting (D) symbol, we'll have these sorts of problems. [ quoted text not captured ]

The theory being (as I see it) that only the attacked Methulsah can block a D action (with a few exceptions, ie: Eagle sight and Annekke) but a non D action can be blocked by your Prey and Predator. Sacrificial Lamb is not a D action at the inferior level, which is on yourself. As to Arson there is nothing I've seen to indicate you are allowed to play it on yourself. I think the card you meant was Rampage. Personally I would love to see the reason you would use this card for it and why they thought to give you that +1 stealth for burning a location you control. How often do you use that option?<g> REF

Rampage is the funniest of these, and furhter evidence of the (D) symbol inconsistancies. It is at +1 Stealth when directed at your own locations, but a reflexive (D) action is unblockable anyway. I myself can't believe that they were thinking of Eagle's Sight only when they made the card... gnfnrf >

All of those should be directed, yes. (sigh) Tom Wylie rec.games.trading-cards.* Network Representative for aa...@cats.ucsc.edu Wizards of the Coast, Inc.

You can't use Arson on your own locations, as it's directed. Basic Sacrificial Lamb can only be played on yourself. I think I said before that you can use the superior version on yourself, but if so, that was probably me falling into a mindtrap; I'll have to think again on whether the wording accidentally breaks the rules for D-actions or not. Peace Alan, We play Rampage as a non-directed +1 stealth action when used on one of your own locations. That's what it looks like the card meant to say and was just phrased poorly.
