Heya!
We just recently had another Create-A-Clan tournament here in Boston,
and I did a massive re-working of the Create-A-Clan rules for it:

Fantastic to hear that the rules have been updated for new stuff!
Is there a tourney report (particularly with clans that people made)?
One CaC rule that's always thrown me off was "You must use all of the
vampires you have created." Why is this rule necessary? It's worded
in a way as to be totally unenforceable: I can make 20 vampires, leave
them all at home, and tell no one about my transgression! :)

Some of the rules depend on that, like the rules on princes (at least in the LSJ
version of the rules -- not sure if Ben's rules also depend on it).

No report as yet (I didn't organize the event), but here are two of
the clans:
Clan Homestar, by Josh Feuerstein:

Clan lolcats, by Ben Peal:

The intent is to have you use only crypt cards for that CaC clan +
bloodline, and not mix with other CaC crypt cards you've made or with
official crypt cards.

Glad to hear it! :)

I less-than-three Action Cat.
WTF Cat was confusing - when he was tapped, he looked sorta untapped!
Madness!
Oh, and that background? Ben tells me he bought kitty kibble and
photographed it...
Ben's lolcats managed not to contest with the *other* lolcat deck at
the tournament, too!
It was a fun time, I'm pretty pleased with the new rules, and I'll
work on getting my own vamps into uploadable form. (The Tuatha de
Danaan, based on Irish mythology.)

Hi Ben,
I think it's a great thing that you are updating the CaC rules, I think
you had some excellent ideas!
I really like how you linked the bloodlines disciplines with the original
bloodlines' weaknesses, and how you made them available to main clans.
Suggestion: maybe you could come up with half-a-dozen 0-to--1-point
disadvantages on blocking and make them available (and mandatory) for
Melpominee?
I generally dig the simplifications, but I'm not bought on the Black Hand
and Anarchs angles. I think it should be possible to make the whole deck
Black Hand (unless I missed something you can now have 3 + Merge if you
don't want to have a BL as well), it would be cool to allow 6+ BH crypts.
On second thought, it might make sense to restrict all-BH decks to need
to go the Clan + BL route.
As for the Anarchs, I agree that we probably need more Anarchy
out-of-the-box in general. Maybe I'd try a different "clan" rule for
Anarchs, off the top of my head:
You can designate your clan as an Anarchist Coven:
- An Anarchist clan has 4 clan disciplines;
- Every member may (must?) purchase the "Anarch" status for 2 (1?) point
each;
- Every member must have more inferior disciplines then he or she has
Superiors.
...though maybe it would be to strong for a clan option, but this angle
might be worth some thought.

*sigh* who am I kidding? It would never have worked, anyways. He's all

Worth pointing out that the C-A-C at Gen Con a couple years ago was
won by a my-guys-go-Anarch deck played by Wes Weston; he didn't need
any extra help from new rules making it easier to be an anarch. Turns
out that simply being able to hand pick the disciplines your guys have
to maximize the use of three-ways is pretty strong already.

It could be fun, but I opted for the simplicity of not bothering
with a disadvantage for each vampire with Melpominee. I'd have to
come up with at least 12 disadvantages. Also, I'm not keen on
disadvantages to gain you points to spend, since there's that tendency
to find a way to make those disadvantages not matter and effectively
get free points out of it. Certainly playtesting can help mitigate
that, but it's a bit of a Pandora's Box.
Now that I've set up the rules such that I can just make incremental
changes, I can experiment with the idea, though. :)

The number of Black Hand vampires you can have is restricted by the
Whole Set clause. You can't increase the number of Black Hand
vampires by taking a Bloodline. You can have a total of 3 Black Hand
vampires, plus one more if you have a vampire who becomes Black Hand
when merged.
I prefer to keep the limit where it is, since it stays more or less
in line with what we see in the actual game.

I just made the new rules for Anarchs in CaC. Let's try 'em out
first and see how it goes. :) Or, y'know, modify them as you see fit
and try your rules set in your playgroup. :)

There must be a clearer way to word that intent. Like, "Your crypt
can contain only vampires you have created for that Clan and
Bloodline." As is, the rule suggests that if you make a vampire, you
can't decide later not to use it.

Fair enough.

Point taken! :)
Looking forward to more reports on CaC tournaments/games!

Jeff,
In the future, please note NSFW on links like these, if you would. I

Normally I'd not worry about it, but the cat pics were so cute I had to show
my son (He adores cats/kittens) so I had to view and download the pictures
to "sanitize" them for his viewing pleasure.
I just didn't want to have to explain dildos to my 8 year old.

I have a question about the "coming into play" effects.
Ok, so it costs one point for a 7+ cap, but then there is a "payment"
number in addition. does that mean for example if I have a 7 cap who
wants to bring in a wolf companion as he comes into play..does THAT
cost him/her 2 points of his/her 8 since the "payment" is listed as
one?
also... please say there is a way to blood curse your CaC
could that be looked into?
Thanks!

A comes-into-play effect costs 1 point. The "payment" is in blood.
So, when designing your crypt, the comes-into-play effect costs 1
point. When the vampire comes into play and you chose to get the
card, you must pay in blood the amount listed in the "payment" column,
plus the cost of the card as listed in the "cost" column. For the
Wolf Companion, the total cost is 2 blood when the vampire comes into
play (1 from the "payment" column, and 1 from the "cost" column).

That option is not in development at this time, nor is it planned.
If you have suggestions for it, feel free to post them.

My inclination would be "no".
- LSJ has, IIRC, indicated previously that he regards Blood Cursed as
worth not much at all in design points terms.
- If you associated it with Quietus (like a clan with Daimoinon is
Infernal, or a clan with Obeah is scarce etc.), Quietus now has
enough toolbox cards that you wouldn't need to make a combat
deck - especially when you could pick two disciplines of your
choice to go with it.
- Ditto if you tried to enforce it on a "combat" clan, based on one or
more of their disciplines. (e.g. you say that Pot and For are
combat disciplines (along with others) so a clan with both of
those can be blood-cursed)

Would it be reasonable to allow your clan to be blood cursed with the
only benefit being that if you do, you may "spoof" one additional
card, that MUST be Tajdid and let it not have it cost that extra pool?
I'm only asking because I have a CaC idea that would be perfect with
that game mechanic...
