How does this sound for a new card
Name: Payoff
Assamite combat card
Play this card at the end of combat between an Assamite and
a vampire for which the Assamite vampire has a contract.
If the Assamite has successfully inflicted damage during the
combat the Assamite gains 1 blood. If the Assamite sends the
vampire to topor gain 1 pool and 2 blood. If the Assamite
burns the vampire gain 2 pool and 3 blood. Only one Payoff
may be played per combat.
Pretty good idea, but I always thought that if I get around to making an
Assamite deck as a theme deck and I wanted to get paid (pool, equipment) by
the other players to assassinate vampires for them, then the deck would have
to contain the Succubus Club. It's the perfect card.

Assuming that the title of the card implies the employer of the assasin is the
one providing the "payoff", I don't think a payoff would be warranted simply
because the target was wounded in combat. In fact, if I had hired an assasin
and he came back to me saying the he had wounded the target, I'd slap him
across the head and ask him why the target wasn't dead yet. Assamites don't
deserve rewards for half-done jobs; it's all or nothing.
As for gaining 1 pool and 2 blood for sending the target to torpor, that's a
excessive if the card is anything but rare. A single Taste of Death is usually
all it takes to send an opposing minion to torpor and you're going to reward
that simple task with a total of 3 blood? I say reduce it to no pool and 1
blood, if anything at all. Again, if I put out a contract on someone's head, I
don't want him in a coma; I want him pushing up the daisies.
Burning the target. Now we're talking. Definitely deserves a reward. But a
reward totaling 5 blood? That's massive. I'd have to say 1 pool, and 2 blood
would be more appropriate. Unless the card was rare.
I played this deck once, and believe me, it is fun. My worry was that
no one would bid, but my prey and predator were too worried about the
Assamites attacking, and giving them a target is a good way to get them
out of your hair. Try it (it's almost like role-playing).

Rarity has already been shown to be a poor excuse for balance.
If it's unbalanced, it doesn't matter whether it's rare or free for
the asking at Wal-Mart. Unbalanced is unbalanced.

A hideous, twisted American "get stuff cheap" chain store with a
recently developed tendancy to crop up in areas where they aren't
wanted (they put one in Sturbridge Village, Massachusetts, USA...an
historic village that recreates many Colonial traditions, and ruined
much of the feel to the place with their eyesore of a building).
Beware the Wal-Mart, lest it consume your soul!!!!

Ooh, Cornerstone of sweet Capitalism, a franchised
sell-your-Grandmother store. Sounds cool. Probably attracts really weird
people. We have a couple of 7-11's in Sydney now, and they have the most
interesting demographics. Please do not export this latest idea.
But we'll keep sending you Fosters! F for Foreigners :) (and other
things we dont want like Kylie)
