3.1.2 Added an alternative for seating 6, 7, or 11 players. http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/veknRulesNew.html Here we go (where players play in 2 rounds and maybe finals): For 6 players: Round 1 = 1,2,3,4 Round 2 = 4,3,5,6 Round 3 = 6,5,2,1 Finals For 7 players: Round 1 = 1,2,3,4,5 Round 2 = 5,4,6,7 Round 3 = 7,6,3,2,1 Finals For 11 players: Round 1 = 1,2,3,4 and 5,6,7,8,9 Round 2 = 11,10,6,1 and 8,3,2,5 Round 3 = 4,9,7,10,11 Finals I'm sure the table orders could be tweaked to fit so there were less prey-predator relationships turning into predator-prey relationships in subsequent rounds, but at least the influences work out pretty nicely. There's not a whole lot you can do with 11 players. You've got 22 games which means tables of 5,5,4,4,4 and five tables doesn't go into three rounds evenly. I don't have time this morning to tackle how many rounds that would be necessary for everyone to play in 3 games before finals. It could take as many as 5 rounds in my estimation and I tend to think that's excessive before a finals. You could end up having someone play the first three rounds then sit out for 2 rounds (FOUR HOURS) and have to return for the finals. Perhaps for 6,7,11 it's just best to only do two rounds and finals (since three rounds are necessary just for prelims with this optional method. Jeff

We (in the person of David Tatu, actually) have worked out some charts already (leading up to the inclusion of the rule in the V:EKN rules). The charts that are going into the next Archon are listed below. They improve upon, as you noted would be possible, the adjacency repetition found in your charts. If anyone can point out shortcomings in the Archon arrangements that are remedied by some other arrangement, I'll be happy to alter the Archon accordingly. > For 6 players: > Round 1 = 1,2,3,4 > Round 2 = 4,3,5,6 > Round 3 = 6,5,2,1 > Finals Archon 6 players: 1 2 3 4 5 1 6 2 6 4 5 3 > For 7 players: > Round 1 = 1,2,3,4,5 > Round 2 = 5,4,6,7 > Round 3 = 7,6,3,2,1 Archon: 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 7 2 5 7 4 6 3 > For 11 players: > Round 1 = 1,2,3,4 and 5,6,7,8,9 > Round 2 = 11,10,6,1 and 8,3,2,5 > Round 3 = 4,9,7,10,11 Archon: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 7 9 11 8 10 2 10 1 11 5 3 4 6 -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. We (in the person of David Tatu, >actually) have worked out some charts already (leading up to >the inclusion of the rule in the V:EKN rules). I must admit that I like this new addition. Now that it happens too often, but there have been awkward times at a tournament where we end up with 6 or 7 people and end up playing it unsanctioned (since we can't get the number to work out right). Thanks! =) Halcyan 2

The 7 player tournament is probably not workable with 3 games per player due to time constraints. If anyone ever ran an event like this, consider keeping the players on a close leash after they've been ousted. You can easily start the next if all players required were either present and/or ousted from the previous round. 6 players, 3 games per player Round 1: 1,2,3,4 Round 2: 4,3,2,5,6 Round 3: 5,3,6,2,1 Round 4: 6,1,5,4 Finals 7 players, 3 games per player This one is very tricky since it cannot be done in 4 rounds. You would need to accomodate 21 player seatings. This is most easily done in tables of 4,4,4,4,5. However, you can't ever have two tables going simultaneously since there are only 7 people attending the event! Round 1: 1,2,3,4 Round 2: 4,3,5,6 Round 3: 6,7,4,2 Round 4: 2,5,7,6,1 Round 5: 3,1,7,5 Finals 11 players, 3 games per player Round 1: 1,2,3,4 and 5,6,7,8 Round 2: 11,10,2,1 and 4,3,5,9 Round 3: 8,1,7,2 and 6,10,9,11 Round 4: 3,9,4,10 and 7,11,8,6,5 Finals Jeff (who really should be working)

Swapping 4 off won't change the fact that 3 players who have played on the same table in a previous round are now playing together again. But it could help with the pred/prey (and general adjacency) repetition: 10 1 4 2 11 6 5 3 Thanks, Scott [ quoted text not captured ]
