I've been trying to make a decent deck focused on the Harbingers ever since Bloodlines came out, but I haven't been very successful so far. I'll list my most recent deck here for you guys to tear apart and hopefully we can get to something that actually works. Any links to good Harbingers decks would also be helpful. Thanks! :o) Crypt: Unre Anise Marianna Lopez Gisela Harden, The Winnower 2 Egothha Agaitas, The Scholar of Antiquities Rudophon Giovanni Blanch Hill Jauan Cali Tom Lolita March Halcyon Masters: Blood Doll - 6 Sudden Reversal - 4 Fortitude - 3 Hungry Coyote Lazarene Inquisitor The Stranger Among Us Recruitment Secure Haven Humanitas Necromancy: Call of the Hungry Dead - 5 Spectral Divination - 5 Spiritual Intervention - 4 Summon Soul - 4 Haunt Fortitude: Force of Will - 5 Kiss of Ra - 4 Rolling with the Punches - 4 Resilience - 4 Unflinching Persitence - 4 Daring the Dawn - 2 Day Operation - 2 Resoration - 2 Regeneration - 2 Freak Drive - 2 Auspex: Telepathic Misdirection - 4 Enhanced Senses - 3 Spirit's Touch - 3 Precognition - 2 Tourett's Voice - 2 Eagle's Sight Pulse of the Canaille - 3 Obeah: Renewed Vigor - 5 Other: Forced Awakening - 4 Martyr's Resilince Equipment, Retainers: Faithful Servant - 3 Erebus Mask Catacombs The basic concept may be too unfocused... or maybe it's just lame. The idea was to get some fortitude weenies that could block for a while until they can equip with a Faithful Servant (no one seems to block that) and then bleed/Force of Will. If they get a blood doll, I have a weak bloat working as long as I can intercept and protect them. And I might be able to rescue them later if I need them for some reason (swarm bleed?). The other thought was to use Summon Soul to keep bringing out Sudden Reversal, Renewed Vigor and other good cards. Other than that, I can't remeber where this deck was heading or why it's so lame (not much pressure on my prey, no real votes, weak bleed, etc.). I seem to have taken a lot of the good cards out to put in other decks, so maybe something crucial is missing from the original. If you have any thoughts, suggestions, or even humorous flames, that would be great. Cheers, Howard

Thanks! :o) This deck has only lost once, and it had 15 votes on the table at the time that one of its Legendary members was Banished, sealing my fate, but it did still take a victory point at that table. Hey how about putting one of your weenies (with a Faithful Servant or two) into torpor and then playing Secure Haven on him? Say a polite no to diablerie, grave robbing and such. The idea came into my mind when I was trying to invent some use for Mummify. In one game I had Nepata in torpor with 4 Blood Dolls and 4 Servants (I used Heidelberg Castle to transfer them on her). The above suggestion would be a totally new deck of course - sorry I couldn't offer anything really productive for your Harbingers. Best regards, Miika

Say a polite no > to diablerie, grave robbing and such. Secure Haven's card text says to burn the card if the minion enters torpor. So, can it be played on a minion in torpor? Google turned up James Coupe asking the same question without any reply. David Cherryholmes Prince of Durham, NC

I'm missing a few of the cards, but it's pretty close to what you had in that deck. Now I'm wondering how you play it (basic strategy) and if there are any important tips you would suggest. And thanks for all the links. :o) Cheers, Howard

Take it slow. Your prey will be dragging with the effects of the Meddling of Semsith. None of your Cardinal Benedictions can afford to fail, so double and triple check the voting situation before you attempt to call them. Only use Agaitas' ability if you have the Barrens (or the Fragment) in play. If you can't immediately use the drawn card, discard it, and you will get the card you would have drawn from your deck right away. Pool gain is critical, so the Consanguineous Boons and Ancient Influence need to pass. Political Strangehold is nice if you get it at the end of the game, but it is a good idea to call it and make it fail at the beginning if anyone else at the table is playing with large vampires. Try to get the Erebus Mask and the Legendary Vampire on the same minion, a three bleed at one built in stealth is nothing to sneeze at. Be careful with it though, if your grand-prey can't block, have that vampire calling your votes at two stealth. The Sanguine Instructions should give Agaitas superior fortitude, or give superior Auspex to Gisela or Anisa. Agaitas cannot be a Cardinal without the Sanguine Instruction though, so don't give it to the girls until he is at seven capacity where he needs to be. Intercept as little as you can. If your vampires cannot act, you cannot win. If you will be ousted though, you have two intercept or can use the bleed bounce as an additional offense. Carpe noctem. thela...@hotmail.com (The Lasombra) wrote in message news:<3d13de8...@text.giganews.com>... [ quoted text not captured ] Thanks. I printed out the strategy and was all set to play the deck yesterday. However, I decided to wait until I get some of the crucial cards in a trade (or buy them) before I play it. I don't have any Meddling of the Semsith... it's seems to be fairly important in this deck. Hopefully I'll get a few next weekend in Austin... Cheers, Howard
