Say the game I'm playing is down to me and another Methuselah. I'm down to one pool, he's at three. It's my turn and, if I don't do something, I know he's going to oust me on his turn. I know he has no intercept and no votes, so I decide to call Kine Resources Contested. The vote passes; he loses three pool, I lose one. At the end of the vote, we're both at zero pool. Who's ousted? Who gets the six pool for ousting his prey? Who gets the victory points?

[ quoted text not captured ] You're both ousted. Neither of you gets six pool. You both get a victory point for ousting your Prey. V:tES rulebook, Section 10: {with official correction} "If a predator is ousted {at} the same {time} her prey is ousted, the predator gets the victory point, but does not get six blood points." -- L. You both get 1 VP for ousting. Noone gets 6 pool. The question is whether anyone gets VPs for being the last one in the game. I would say noone gets the VP for being the last methuselah since noone survived. The actual text says that the last Methuselah remaining in the game... But noone is remaining in the game when the game ends so noone gets that VP. It could be argued that they split the VP for being the last vampires left in the game [before it ends]. But I think the intent is to be the last left in the game [when it ends].

[ quoted text not captured ] That's correct. No one gets the point for being the last one standing if no one is standing when it's over. This is to keep the # of victory points in a game constant (determined by the number of Methuselahs in the game when it begins). This constant has been mangled by the Sabbat Withdrawal rules, leading to problems determining who gets whose ante (used to be, you got one Ante for every VP you got - now, who knows?) Of course, it explicitly states in the Sabbat booklet that the rules contined therin are optional, so why put up with the mangling? -Wallpaper Paste for all those useless cards
