If a slaved gargoyle becomes independant (by say, going anarch) does this remove it's enslaved status? I'm assuming no, but I'm not entirely sure. Anyone have any opinion / ruling on this? Cheers Sutekh_23

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Correct: Changing sects does not change the salve status of the vampire, no.

Actually, this brings up an interesting question. Can a Slave use the Slave rule on himself? Based on the Rulebook: Slave: Some minions are identified as slaves to a specified clan. A slave cannot take a directed action if his controller doesn’t control a ready member of the specified clan. Also, if a member of the specified clan controlled by the same Methuselah is blocked, the controller can tap the slave to cancel the combat and to untap the acting vampire and have the slave enter combat with the blocking minion instead. There is no clause that the slave has to be a different minion than the acting vampire. So, Pugfar Clan Impersonates to Tremere Antitribu. He also gets a Zillah's Tears (or a Rutor's Hand or there's a CrimethInc. in play). Pugfar plays a Bum's Rush on Queen Anne and Arika attempts to block. Pugfar uses the Tears/Rutor's/CrimethInc. to untap, then taps himself to invoke the Slave rule (on himself), so the block combat is canceled, Pugfar is untapped, and he now enters combat with Arika (but not as an acting minion so Obedience can't be used). That seems to be a legal play, right? Of course it's a very cornercase scenario and unlikely to be all that useful. But funny, nonetheless!

[ quoted text not captured ] hate to ruin the party, but slaving requires an untapped slave. :( if you happen to be acting, you're very rarely untapped. -- salem
